Every time I get into my car, Maelstrom spawn and kill me.
So, I decided to wait until 2.1 to finish my 2nd playthrough of the game. I'm at the point where you go outside of Lizzie's bar to look for Evelyn at the Clouds.

But every bloody time I go into my car to drive there, a car with Maelstrom spawn and shoot me dead.

I tried to enter a different car and they didn't spawn. But, curious about what was happening, I drove away from Lizzie's bar, called my car, entered it and Maelstrom spawned again.

What the hell is going on that makes it so every time I enter my car, a car with Maelstrom spawns and kills me?

EDIT: Tested it around a bit, seems to be every car, its as if the whole area became hostile. I've still got a pistol and a katana and the bastards have machine guns and katanas.
What the hell? Either my save broke or something because this isn't normal. I did play the game back when 1.5 came out so things might have changed, but if this intentional then it's sh1t.

Yeah. Go look at the thread "gang attacks are annoying." This is legitimately the worst part of 2.1.

I just hope they fix it soon. As of now the game might as well be completely unplayable.
Somehow destroyed the car of Maelstrom, drove to another district and immediately another car attacked me.
Really not sure how after all this time an update comes out taking 2 steps forward and a huge back-flip backwards.

Man I can literally not play the game anymore, as soon as I get on my bike I get insta killed.

So you're condemning the entire patch because of one problem you experience that you don't like? Just like when a game is released any game patches are the same they release them and then it takes two or three days to go in and adjust gameplay to fit bug's and people's complaints as much as possible. Something like this she'd always be expected it's in every game every patch every time.
If you cannot play the game because it is spamming gang attacks then yes it is reasonable to condemn it. Problems like this would be easily solved and fixed before release if they had a few people actually play it.

Happened to me, got into Cheetahs car to drive him to safety and 4 cars started ramming me immediately, one of which was the Police.

Then, at the end I was stuck in the car listening to him prattle on and almost died.

Yes.
As much as I love the features such as the metro and the radio on the go, if the game is killing me by spamming gang attacks then the patch made the game worse.
This isn't a small thing, but something that majorly affects the gameplay in a negative way.

You can easily solve the problem yourself by either stopping to attack every random ganger you see, or if that's out of the question for you, leave their districts when you're done losing it.

So either fight them anyways or leave the area you needed to be in to be attacked in another area? I don't think you know what "solve" means.

Yup....same problem for me. Except I am experiencing it on a brand new save in early game after the mission "The Pickup" when you go get the bot from Maelstrom. Two vehicles full of elite Red Skull Maelstrom roll right up and completely wreck my day - and then the cops show up and join in with them. It has absolutely broken the game for me.

I'm doing a fresh playthrough, so my level and gear aren't exactly up to snuff when it comes to fights like this. Not only that but the frame drops, which were not here the last time I played the game, are ruining my ability to drive and shoot.
Furthermore, I did try leaving the area only for another gang car to attack me.
The system is completely over-tuned.

If you aggro'd a gang they will attack you on sight for a while. If you're on foot this will behave much like the old system where they attack you immediatly but not call in reinforcements. It's way easier to escape them this way. Just make sure you get far away from their turf so no member of them can spot you.

As for the frame drops the only thing that comes to my mind is to check wether the game auto turned off your upscaling solution. I had FSR turned off automatically after updating to 2.1 and had to manually re-apply it. In case the setting is not visible in your game you will have to change the graphics preset to anything and it will come back up.

I re-did my settings since 1.5 but that hasn't helped much. As for aggroing a gang, I've only played until the part of the story specified above. I didn't go out of my way to aggro any gangs in particular. Even if I did, I doubt that a response like that is appropriate for my level/part of the story.

I'd definitely agree with this. Not game-breaking at all, but way too common, and breaking the immersive experience. When gangs are constantly attacking you over and over, despite being a single, unsuspecting citizen in a common vehicle, it makes the experience more like Fortnite than the deep immersion that they made with Night City.

CDPR just needs to hear from enough of us to realize this mechanic is way too overbalanced, and they'll follow up with a rebalance or a toggle option. And if they don't this is definitely one aspect that is absolutely worth modding back OUT of the game.

I was right in the middle of another playthrough when 2.1 dropped, and I'll be stepping away from the game until it is rebalanced or a mod is available. I absolutely love driving through Night City, simply taking it all in and reveling in the detail. The over-prevalence of gang attacks ruin that experience enough to give it a rest until it's fixed, but it's certainly not the end of the world.

They eventually stop coming, I think it spawns them retroactively so when the patch dropped they all triggered at once.

Still worth disabling or modding out completely. It makes the game more run-&-gun, and only incentivizes you to bolt to the nearest fast-travel point (completely avoiding the beauty of Night City altogether) if you hope to arrive at your next mission with any ammo left. THAT is definitely too much of a negative experience factor.
