"PressTo Continue" CTD ever since the new updates
I saw many people had CTD issues; some were similar to mine. Im not sure if its all caused by the same thing or if slightly different crashes means the same issue. In my case I load up to the main menu where it used to say "Press B to Continue". Now it says "PressTo Continue". When i press B it crashes instantly. I have uninstalled the entire game, meaning i deleted the entire game folder from Steam, then reinstalled without any mods at all, and it STILL has this issue. I dont know what to do at this point to fix/trouble shoot, as the step i took should have rooted out any issues. Any other suggestions would be very appreciated!!!

go thru the basics.....there is more than deleting and reinstalling to be done.
Multiple older threads offer helpful suggestions.

Another thing too, my pc has been able to run the game fine. 3080 rtx, no issues there. To me those are "the basics" for getting a game to run. Anything else is probably niche info that cannot generally be considered "basics"/

not even close....just because your graphic card can do the game it means little if the rest of your rig is too old. Cyberpunk is a graphically demanding game...so assuming your rig can handle it is just your assumption.

I was able to solve the issue by upgrading to the latest nvidia drivers. Additionally, I also made sure to delete all games files, both from the steam, datapp, and documents folders.

that is for dealing with mods. ( copied from an older thread) I don't use mods myself.
- installation on a SSD
- lower all your graphic settings to minimum to start and then gradually increase them to see what your rig can handle
- lower crowd density to minimum

those are just the " basics". without your rig's specs people can only guess and offer generalities.

Ok, let me be very clear. I have been playing cyberpunk fine over the last 2 years. I didnt, list every spec because i didnt think i needed to emphasize that part, my fault i guess. Also, if you re-read the OP, i cannot get passed "pressTo Continue" in order to try changing settings, i cant access the main menu or anything; unless there is another way to access those setting to try, its not possible. Specs are good to go as far as handling the game, there was no FPS drop or issues or crashing or anything until *the last update*. So what im getting at, is there doesn't seem to be some obvious solution, like changing a setting or checking to see if i can even run the game. I have had many playthroughs already, my pc can run it fine.

There is a way. On Windows 11, you can find UserSettings.json at
C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Local\CD Projekt Red\Cyberpunk 2077

AppData is a hidden folder, so you may need to enable a setting to show hidden folders first.
The file can be opened and edited with, for example, Notepad++.

Stupid question, have you tried unplugging your controller and pressing space on the keyboard? I assume you are playing on PC, these forums are not for consoles, I would guess on GoG or Epic.

CTD (Crash to Desktop) is not the same as not being able to press something to get to the next screen.

a ctd when pressing to continue is clearly a corrupted save issue or it's a mod issue...
Bogmore Nov 28, 2023 @ 1:13am
Since it's not loading a save at that point It can really be only a few things, corrupted settings, drivers or folders not removed properly.

Since the OP says they removed the full Steam folder it can't really be mods. It's might be the AppData CD Project Red or RedEngine folders.

Ill try this. i doubt this is the issue though. My specs are up to par, for atleast entering the main menu.

Just to clarify. The "continue" im referencing is the one before you have access to "new game, load game, etc", theres the opening into "gooooood morning night city" which i can skip, and then after that the game has you press continue to then press continue to your last save; i never reached that point

I do wish you would stop saying Crash To Desktop as it is not actually doing that.

You just can't press space for some reason.
