Graphics quality worse in 2.0?
I played the base game the day it released and, while I had some performance issues like many others did, the game was still mostly playable and looked absolutely incredible.

I took a break from the game after investing a large number of hours, mostly just spent wandering around Night City taking in the sights, but returned for Phantom Liberty. I first noticed something seemed off while making my new character to start over fresh for PL.

V just wasn't "popping" anymore, but I couldn't quite decicde if it was just me imagining things or maybe if I needed to readjust graphics settings after reinstalling into 2.0.

I've tried maxing out the graphics settings and also optimizing them using some guides. But still things just don't look the way they used to either way. Jackie and other major characters you speak to at length all have a weird "plastic" look, and I don't mean their implants. In particular a thing that stands out to me is their hands and arms, they all look super smooth now to the point where they don't even match the skin on the rest of their bodies anymore.

That first look out the window of V's apartment now has so many pixels on signs and billboards that I absolutely know were not there before. I've spent way too much time staring out that window when the game was new (and showing it to my friends), I know those pixels weren't there before.

My video card is a little older, a GeForce 1070Ti, but it's the same card I had when Cyberpunk first released and things looked incredible. Has anyone else had this experience? What could be causing this? Is there anything I can do besides getting a new video card?

Thanks for your time!

check your graphics settings, are you running DLSS ultra performance or something of the kind? some kind of resolution scaling? maybe something is on/off by default that wasn't back then.

or try updating your drivers

I'll take another look and check my drivers, thanks.

Same issue here, everything looks way worse than I remember. Did you ever figure this out?

Even though they have all the bells and whistles going on with the grpahics and yes they do look amazing. I have a 4090 and am maxing out graphics settings. Many of the textures are very low quality and sometimes the more you improve the graphics the more obvious those quality issue become. I really notice it personally in the generic npc skins. And so I mod the game to correct those. There is a mod called preem skin, that adjust some shader setting that makes a difference for the overall look of npc skins with no real resources. But yeah. I'm with you a bit. To me it looks better and worse at the same time.

The graphics improved, after 300 hours I noticed an NPC carrying a box in a hurry.
Everything got better.

For me performance is worse especially in Dogtown.

I did, and it was all my fault - updating my drivers was the answer. It's as beautiful as I remember it now.
