NEW NVIDIA DRIVER TO TRY FOR CRASHES!?
They just released Nvidia GeForce Game Ready Driver! Hopefully this will help with some of the crashes we're dealing with. BTW, I've been running the game via the exe (either bin\x64\Cyberpunk2077.exe or REDprelauncher.exe) and haven't had any crashes yet!

Version: 537.58 WHQL
Release Date: 2023.10.10
Operating System: Windows 10 64-bit, Windows 11

Tried yesterday to play with fresh clean drivers and didn't have a crash yet, i'll see how it's gonna go today.

Yes. Latest graphics driver have fixed it for me as well. Shame we had no heads up about potential problems and no word until it was released. Been tearing my hair out for days trying to find the problem.

It's a "standard PC procedure": if a game starts crashing after a patch, the very first thing you do is to look for updated graphics drivers from AMD or NVIDIA or Intel (don't believe what Windows Device Manager tells you). It has been like this since the dawn of PC gaming, it's nothing new or nothing that requires "heads up". I see this on every game forum I visit. I'm really surprised so many people don't realize this.

For me the game is now continually crashing to desktop since updating to 537.58 drivers

Previously it would crash every time I exited the game but it still saved my progress and had no real impact so it didn't concern me much.

Game is now unplayable for me as it keeps crashing

That's true but it wasn't a case of having to "look" for Drivers, it was a case of having to WAIT for Drivers when there was NO official info posted that this WAS a driver issue. No confirmation or clarity. That's all i'm saying.

Right? It's beyond me how this is still the case when both GF Experience and Radeon Software will nag about it constantly when new driver is available.

ive been using
31.0.15.3699 (Date:08/04/2023)
since i bought and installed phantom liberty back on the 26th
have racked up 150 hours in PL and not a single crash.

i don't update my drivers EVER if things are working. only ever update when you have no other choice and or things aren't working. latest drivers aren't always magic.

The devs and the GPU makers may not even realize there is an issue until crash reports start coming in. So it's true that sometimes we may need to wait for a new driver and there may be delays in communications. Also, most devs are not that forthcoming with issues, they're probably afraid of starting a blame game: is it their or NVIDIA's fault? It's better just to check for new drivers regularly than wait for comms and confirmations from the devs than being frustrated and looking for someone to blame.

True, but... I don't even install GFE myself, but I've read that it sometimes fails to notify in a timely manner. I just check for drivers when (1) I have any sudden issues (2) There is a game or Windows patch out.

NVIDIA used to send out an email too if you had an account with them but that stopped too. So it's really upon us to keep our drivers updated.

What Cpu do you have?

I'm still using 537.34.

Had 3 crashes in about 80 hours. 2 of them were before I'd updated to that driver...

The other one was because I was lazy (hadn't properly nuked the old driver before installing the new one = proper hard system crash for the first time in years)... Started having problems in other games too... Had to run DDU in safe mode to fix that one.

Been solid ever since, not had a single crash while playing multiple times per day.
