Sudden Flickering/Screen Tearing like effect when using frame generation

So currently playing on a laptop 4080 and I noticed that I would get sudden screen tearing and flickering during my play-through (seems to happen more frequently after exiting a cut-scene though). At first I thought it was a monitor issue but it happened on 2 different monitors already. The only "fix" I found when it happens is either to restart the game or to turn off frame generation. Turning frame gen on again causes the issue to come back again so restarting is really the only option. Anyone else having similar issues with frame gen?

I'm having a similar issue. Whenever I use frame Gen I get a sort of faint full screen flickering. Looks like the brightness is changing very fast. Very distracting once noticing it.

Me too. RTX 4090 desktop. 1440p 165hz monitor.
Thought it was mod related...

Hey man just seeing your reply. I think I’ve been able to fix it on my end. It been two days and I haven’t seen it happen yet. So it seems to me that it is gsync related, I’ve read that it can have the same effect. I turned off my monitors overclock (180hz to 165hz) the difference in 15fps when I’m already at 160 on most games is nothing. Hopefully this helps

Since gsync is required with frame gen I suspect that’s the culprit + my overclocked monitor. When using vsync without frame gen it would go away.
