NPC Clothing/model graphical glitches.

[All Thriller No Philler]

Some (so far only female) models wear clothes that massively glitch out. They shoot polygonal "sprays" in a spastic and rapid outward jump to your camera from their point, and take over the screen while doing so. Makes driving, fighting, and even just navigating the stores nearly impossible if one of these glitches are around.

I think I've noticed it in the market at the bottom of your starting apartment too.

I have this issue as well. I've tried many things and I can't figure out how to fix it. Crazy that CDPR hasn't said anything about it. RTX 4090, I9-13k.

I updated my drivers (nvidia 3080ti) and that improved the glitch but didn't eliminate it. The geometry sprays are smaller and often settle down after a few seconds. FYI.

No. At this point I'm not sure the driver update did anything. Maybe I just got lucky for a little while. I just updated with yesterdays driver update now, and no change. :(

ok so I did a couple things that's fixed this problem for me. Not sure which one is the solution because I did it together but I disabled the Judys alternate clothing mod and I installed this mod that was linked. Now I'm not seeing any bugs.

I dont have this mod installed and yet i'm having the issues as well. Is this really the only known fix for this?

Well, this seems to have fixed it! I didn’t have this mod before and I don’t know why it fixes it but haven’t seen the issue when before it was hard to play for 5 minutes without seeing it.

Since I own the game on GOG I can' really post screens here. But as far as I know now, using AMM, I have found 3 or maybe 4 glitched models so far. There is one lady wearing a military style jacket with only a bra below. Then there is a lady seemingly wearing a skirt which freaks out. The 4th ´could be the first again or something else, it glitches out so hard I can't see anything. And last but not least the waitress in Lizzys is glitching out in both outfit variants the game offers. So it is probably not the clothes itself but a skeletal rigging problem.

Edit: Appeareance Menu Mod (AMM) on the nexus let's you blacklist outfits that are broken. It just saved my game.

So I've whittled down my problem with AMM, as it turns out launching with redmod on vortex makes smoking npcs spazz the ♥♥♥♥ out for me. Real unfortunate cus I cant find a way to blacklist an animation

Delete them and then ask Steam to check the integrity of the installation.

So far the game hasn't produced any glitch with the textures.

This fixed it for me. I had old mods that I forgot I installed manually

Just deleting those folders, verifying integrity, and reinstalling mods through nexus worked for me! I assume i installed a mod manually at some point so removing all mods via nexus didnt work.

I was running a mod called NPCs Gone Wild (now apparently abandoned and defunct) that caused this...removing the mod cured the problem. I would speculate that any mod that changes or removes clothing from NPCs could possibly cause this.

If you have never installed mods but get this, I don't know what's going on.

That's right, in my case it was a mod for an alternative look of Judy.
Deleted it, the artifacts are missing. I returned them for the test and they appeared.
