Cyberpunk 2077

Cyberpunk 2077

View Stats:
Really low FPS
Hello all, I am running a I9 12900 CPU, 2070 GPU, and 64 Gs of ram. The game is on an SSD with 500Gs of available space. I am getting sub 30s FPs at 2K res. I have looked online for tweaks in game but I think it may be something to do with my hardware. any suggestions, or should I bite the bullet and get a 4070?

Bite the bullet even harder and get the 4070 Ti. You'll get a way better experience and not just in CP2077

Well, turn on DLSS. I have RTX 3060 Ti with Ryzen 5 5600 playing on Ultra (reflections on high) with DLSS Quality (60-70fps) or DLSS Balanced (70-90fps) on Ultrawide 3440x1440 resolution.

There is a CPU pefrormance problem, introduced in 2.01 patch (latest one). I'm getting horrible pefrormance with it even on rtx 4080 due to strage CPU bottleneck

I also can recommend DLSS on. I'm running it with 3080 on Quality and nearly everything on Ultra + RT and get +60FPS. DLSS is working really well on Cyberpunk.

3070 super (3700 ryzen, 32g memory and 980 pro ssd), ultra WITHOUT RT is 60-65 , 2k resolution
Without dlss quality - 40-45fps
ultra + dlss + rt + 2k = 15-25 fps

So no, it doesnt work very well

When I first played this I had a 3060Ti and i7-10700 and the game was borderline at 1440p/ultra no RT settings. So it doesn't seem that far from reality. Even old HW reviews support similar numbers:
https://www.guru3d.com/review/geforce-rtx-3070-ti-founder-edition-review/page-13/

Depending on the area of the game it might very well be in the 40's. This game is just hard to run without upscaling, and Dogtown is already a notorious performance killer (depending on your hardware you might be looking at 20-40% lower fps in Dogtown than the rest of Night City).

Adding DLSS but together with RT will probably make things worse on 3070-ish class hardware as CP2077 is extremely RT heavy. Try standard Ultra preset (without RT) at 1440p + DLSS Quality and see how it helps. You should reach 60 fps quite comfortably.

Whats you power supply bro.i have the same config with Ryzen 7 5800x but my gpu usage keeps dropping from 90 to 10 percent

I have an RTX4080 and I'm often maxing out my 1440p monitor's 165Hz refresh rate with DLSS FG on and the new, experimental RT features turned off, standard RT is on max settings. I'm blown away how fast this game runs compared to even older games that added Ray Tracing. So I'm not aware of any CPU issues, although I have proactively set the executable to only run on my P-cores only as I have come across E-cores related stutter issues with other games.

Also, with a 4000 series card you will get the benefits of DLSS Frame Generation for games that support it. In Cyberpunk it gives me like 30% FPS boost and I'm not really seeing any image quality degradation.

I've found another problem from 2.01 update. CDPR increased VRAM consumption up to 1-2Gbs more in some situations. I used some texture mods from Nexusmods flawlessly but with 2.01 I had to delete half of them because VRAM overflow caused fps drops, stuttering and worst of all it "disabled" FG because FG alone uses up to 3Gbs of VRAM alone

I agree with the other people that say get a 4070 or 4070 ti. I have a 3080 and I play at 1440p and the card is showing its age already. Especially when it comes to these newer games. You'll only run into more and more issues down the road. Since you have a great cpu you're performance will go through the roof with a 40 series card.
