BUT turns out I needed to update my video drivers
TRY THIS https://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx
Disable mod: Codeware - TweakXL - ArchieveXL - EquipmentEX and then do a steam Verify of files. Make sure you keep your old save to go back to when mods are fixed. Spent hours to get it working but still not ideal. One of the mods DLL Files must be the wrong version due to 2.01 - I posted this in another thread. Working so far but..........
Edit: Works but loses the Wardrobe function and the other mods that rely on those mods but no modded gear has gone from my stash but looks like I would have to just redo my Outfits. I just bough Phantom Liberty also....Sucks but ill play though then once when mods are fixed.
so, as someone mentioned earlier, one of the devs had to accidentially hard-code the file path...
To prevent people from going down a rabbit hole:
This is not the issue. When compiling c/c++ code, the compiler is going to put the path of the source file based on where the file is on the computer compiling the code. This doesn't mean it's trying to read some file from your computer's E drive. All this is saying is that the assert in baseEngineInit.cpp at line 1055 is the assert failing and causing the crash.
Source: C/C++ programmer who uses the __FILE__ macro in a very similar way.
If your game is crashing try a new game no mods installed see if crashes still persist. If this is the case lower your settings and repeat above.
Halt all third party program if any running like cheat apps, or social media apps, the only apps running should be for kb and mouse, nvidia, or fan monitoring apps. All other unnecessary apps should not be running.
A new install shouldn't need to be verified unless you have intermittent internet.
If the game still crashes then you should consider looking at your hardware. Maybe start saving for better components. or look at how you have your components are mixed with others as this can cause issues.
This also worked for me, though all the lasting mods weren't working anymore, but the game finally starts.
