Of course I've tried reassigning. It didn't work. I can't test using the default key because my keyboard has an unusual layout that has no LControl.
I've also tried editing the inputMappings.xml file without success. I read somewhere that when doing so in 2.0 to get dodge remapped you need to remap 3 different shortcuts to the same key. I've not tried this.
Double tap option is a good tip if it works. But I've given up and aceppted that they only really support playing with a controller, and given up on my 30 years of muscle memory for FPSs with mouse and keyboard. Driving is also much better with a controller and analogue triggers.
Also, keep in mind that you have to trigger dodge while aleeady moving, otherwise it won't work.
I had the same issue with crouch, but that started working out of the blue. I think there are slight issues with the keyboard and mouse controls.
character >reflexes> middle path > second node
is this skill what you had baseline before? (i never played much before 2.0)
keybindings > exploration and combat > 9-11 lines down
key for crouch held / dive
key for crouch toggle
key for dodge /dash
do you have those keys set and they dont work or something else?
you can dodge with a double tap.
In this game, I just don't get in circumstances that need dodging. Dodging isn't so good in Cyberpunk, compared to other titles with dodge is implemented.
The dodge function is hard coded to work with a secondary function like hold to crouch. As a result of this the dodge triggers on RELEASE of the button, not press like a sane person would want on their keyboard, especially after rebinding it to a single function key.
Not only that, but by default you have to release the key within a 0.2 second window after pressing it. You can edit the inputContexts.xml file to change these timings so that that the release window is longer, but I have yet to find a way to get the dodge function to trigger on button PRESS.
I may be wrong, but even looking at mods from earlier versions of CP2077, none of them seem to have made dodge function on a press. Since none of them currently work as installed mods in 2.0, I have no way to test this, but most of them are just about allowing you to rebind dodge and make it a single click only.
