Launching Cyberpunk2077 causes blue screen ("BAD POOL CALLER" or KERNEL MODE HEAP CORRUPTION")
Launching Cyberpunk2077 causes blue screen ("BAD POOL CALLER" or KERNEL MODE HEAP CORRUPTION")
Yesterday I did full reset of my pc with windows 11 reinstall. Before that, CP was running smoothly on my pc. I updated every single driver, even BIOS. Launching CP form steam causes instant BSOD.

I tried:

Memory scanning using different programs;
Updating, reinstalling, searching drivers via "driver easy", manually too;
Switching RAM;
Disabling OC;
Moving Steam and CP to different drive;
Turning off every program that was running in the background;

I also tested if this problem occurs with CS:GO and League of Legends - it does not.
UPDATE: Apex is working normally too

PC Specification :
Ryzen 5 5600X
RTX2060
B450 Tomahawk
24 Gb RAM

I really need help, don't know what to do. Sorry for my English if it's bad written.

It's a major windows error. Different programs use different things which is why some work and some don't. LoL and CS:GO are really old.

Are you using any overlays besides Steam's, or some form of software that interfaces with your hardware directly (to overclock, for example, or just provide information about fan speeds, etc.)?

Only TranslucentTB which makes windows bar transparent but i tried with this off.
OC only in BIOS. No msi afterburner etc.

I’m having the exact same issue right now, no fix as of yet. Doing all kinds of Win diagnostics, I’m about to just do a fresh windows install i sweat to god

i found a solution to this after 2 months of microsoft support being no help and there being no solution online, if you have the same problem i had then you could try going to device manager -> storage controllers, make sure you have standard controllers and not StoreMI RAID/RAID controllers unless you're in a RAID configuration on your pc. Hope this helps you it took forever to find the cause of my crashing as it wan't posted anywhere online and reinstalling windows didn't fix it.

At what point after you click play does this happen?
Do you ever see the CDPR Bird logo?
Do you ever the initial Cyberpunk logo animation prior to the bird logo?
Do you ever see the initial black screen loading prior to the Cyberpunk logo animation?

Also, if you attempt to launch the game 10 times, do you BSOD at the exact same point every single time?

Does this include "StoreMi Controller [storport]"?

For me I had to remove everything to do with StoreMi in the storage controllers section. If you don't use StoreMi you don't need them and they caused so many issues for me and I didn't even have StoreMi installed
