Bad performance after nvidia driver update
Hello,

I do have the following specs:

i7-8700k
RTX 3070 slightly OC
32GB RAM
1440p resolution

I started to play the game and I was using an October '22 driver and getting pretty solid 60 fps (nvidia control panel cap, gsync) with some drops to 50's but overall great experience. I've stick more or less with the auto-configuration which enabled nearly everything high-ultra including RT (not pshyco, not overdive obviously).

Now I've updated the driver to the latest one and the performance significantly drop between 30-40fps. I've checked the settings and are the same. I've tweak some settings lowering the overall quality but still not able to reach the constant 60's like before.

What went wrong? Any idea of how I could fix it, is there a way, maybe clearing cache or something like that?

Try removing the drivers cleanly with DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller) and then reinstalling them. Be sure to read how to use it first if you're unfamiliar with the process.

Usually such issues occur if the driver is simply installed over the old one or through GeForce Experience.

You can use freeware NVCleanstall to delete your current drivers and do a clean driver install. It will also give you an easy way to install earlier drivers if they work better for you.

Thanks, yes, that worked perfectly!!!

I've uninstalled the current driver in safe mode, then I've installed the latest version from the nvidia website, and the framerate is back to 50-60's.

Thank you so much, I always updated the drivers with the Geforce Experience program and never had any issue. I can not believe how crappy are the nvidia tools, starting with the *** control panel and following with Geforce Experience which is not useful for anything (presets for games are a joke and as I realized, updating a driver could directly f*** the system performance).

I had the same issue. I have a 3060Ti but using the drivers 531.68 somehow give me framerate drops and even pixelated hair, don't now why. I rollbacked to 531.61 and my FPS went back to normal and the pixelated textures on the haiir of my Fem. V was gone =)

In my experience it takes a couple of driver updates before NVidia drivers are actually 'Game Ready'. A clean install is also usually a good idea. GeForce Experience works pretty well for me normally, but It's not a bad idea to give it a fresh install too.
