If you can encounter a sudden massive FPS drop while playing, please read this for the fix!!

GUYS, THIS IS THE FIX:

- Change your DLSS settings.
That's it.

I dont know how nor why it happens and neither how nor why this fix works, but yes... it simply works.

For example, if you have DLSS at 'Quality' and suddenly get your FPS drop, then go into your Graphics menu and shift the DLSS slider to 'Auto'. On the other hand, if you have DLSS set at 'Auto', then shift it to 'Quality' or 'Balanced' instead.

The FPS will then leapfrog back up to normal each time you change. The only annoying this is you have to keep doing this everytime you get the sudden FPS drops but for me, it doesnt happen as often to be an issue.

i just figured this out on my own today. i thought it was one of the 100 mods i was using but finding out its a vanilla issue makes me feel a lot better.

Early 2025, I'm start playing cyberpunk 2077 again. Then I had this problem too. Suddenly massively fps drop after quit inventory menu or some cutscenes had fps drop too. I'm try to fix it and then saw your post, I try follow- try mess around with dlss setting. Finally, this one fix my game perfectly. Thank you 😘

The game has a lot of stutter with the last update, the only way it goes away is by using dlss at ultra performance

Man, same problem i have with witcher 3. It's mostly ok with dlss and then sudden frame drop. You can either turn off dlss or restart pc. However if you are in some parts of Novigrad or Toussaint, the glitch can come back within minutes. Unfortunately, this fix does not work
