Abnormal RAM Usage Crashing Game?
I'm only able to play CP77 for about 5-10 minutes before my performance takes a drastic hit and my RAM usage goes from a normal 14GB ish to maxing my system out at 32GB. (My monitoring software reads 31GB+ usage) I'm just playing the game normally, i've tested Vanilla and Modded with no differences.

Does anyone else have this issue or know of any fixes?

My System:
5700x CPU
32GB DDR4 3600mhz RAM
Installed on an M.2 SSD
6800XT GPU
Windows 11

The above mod/script seems to absorb ram excessively, and I appear to have not noticed it during my wiping of mods. While I assume it was just this mod/script its also possible that other older scripts introduce a memory leak into the game or they just simply do not dump data from ram that they're no longer using.

After clearing that mod/script from my game, CP 2077 now uses a normal safe amount of ram.

To OP and anyone else, avoid old scripts and check comments on various scripts to ensure memory issues are not a thing for them.

I can say this, turning off mods is never enough to make them a none factor. appdata folders, configs.

I use Vortex Mod Manager to disable and uninstall my mods and i have double checked directories manually that theres no leftover mod files.

Got the same issue, not sure what happened.

I've ran CP 2077 before the new patches without any ram issues, and now CP 2077 uses all my ram till the point where other apps start failing due to ram limitations, it's messed up. Again though, wasn't an issue before.

I suspect the newest patch and a possible setting or update on Windows 11 may be the cause but I cannot safely determine that yet.

Also the cloud saves in the game save your settings I believe.

i never thought about windows update breaking the game like this, and now that you mention it yeah this did start happening after a windows update,

It's just a gut feeling tbh, lately I've been having issues with various games with most recent Windows 11 updates, and the weirdest issues occur, though prior games had their issues resolved, this ram usage issue with CP 2077 is new to me.

Best you can do is wait till someone finds a fix or a Windows update fixes it somehow, or the issue gets more attention.

It's the game and the save file triggering the bug, I had this issue months back and I needed to go back thirty minutes to get past it. This isn't a Windows Update thing, it's the game and unfixed parts. Use an earlier save.

As a sidenote: I played vanilla, no mods.

This doesn't appear to be the case for me, wiping my saves and starting fresh does nothing. Regardless of which save I load 30 mins back or an hour (if I can make it that far) CP 2077 still vacuums up all my ram to the point of making other apps crash.

And you cleared the appdata/ users files? documents/saved games folders? For me I think one of mods just messed my directx or something. Cleaning house was my only solution. Fresh install of windows. Avoid cloud saves. Just my experience anyways. And on a side note I am so happy I did. I was really robbing myself of a better gaming experience.

Can confirm the mod "CTD Helper" has a memory leak issue and was my issue. I uninstalled this and cleared my app data folder and verified files. My game now runs perfect.
Thank you everyone :)
