3080Ti 40 FPS?
HALP!
Got a new 3080Ti and when i first played Cyberpunk on it the benchmark was 120-200 FPS

Maxed out settings and i was getting 80 FPS but with drops down to 40-45 during the first car chase, missed a bunch of shots.... so i went back and put all settings to off and low etc, played with DLSS on/off etc etc

now im stuck at 40fps max with minimum settings?

Drivers and Geforce Experience reinstalled

any ideas?

Update:
Reinstalled game, 80+ FPS on default settings, after 30 minutes frame rate has dropped to upper 50s, only doing the tutorial so far.

Maybe GPU overheating after some time into the game?

which version of 3080ti you got? And also what temps are you getting? The nvidia geforce experience overlay has an option to show the ingame temperatures.

At what resolution are you playing?

Kongragon: GPU is in the mid 60's C , 72C is the highest ive seen yet in MSI afterburner, it idles in the low 40s C

Model: ZT-A30810J-10P

Resolution is 1920x1080, i can switch to 4k (i have a 4k TV) with max everything and the rez barely changes down to 30s-40s FPS

After the reinstall, on basic default settings at 1080, im running 40-60 FPS

my in-game performance drops after several hours of gameplay. perhaps your cooling system can't handle the heat?

First off what CPU are you using? With a ryzen 9 5950 and mt Asus Tuf 3080TI, all settings at high/ultra with raytracing at ultra and DLSS set to balanced. I average like 80 fps. never going above like 62c on the gpu. This is after several hours of game play at 1440.

Look like there is some throttle.
My 3060 laptop can have stable 60fps.

i7-5280k 3.3Ghz, no overclock or any other tweaks
CPU usage never goes over 30-40%
Temps of GFX are 46C max

that's the issue. cpu usage is low maybe when you first load the game, but as the game progresses, more npcs will spawn etc etc. your cpu usage will shoot up dramatically especially on 'dated' cpus.

even my i9 9900kf in relatively crowded and intense areas will bottleneck my 3060 ti resulting in 10-20 fps lost just because of my cpu. it'll look something like 80-90% cpu usage, 50-60% gpu usage.

try lowering crowd density for fps stability.

That's your problem. This is a CPU heavy game, too. Your CPU usage may not go over 30-40%, but you're probably maxing out the one or two cores the game runs on. I'm running an i7-8700k with a 1080ti and am at 60fps in medium settings, even with a much older gpu than yours.

Your CPU is from 2014, and it's never going to be able to keep up with a 3080ti.

I didnt think to look at the cores/threads on the CPU, i will keep an eye one them. thanks and I will post an update soon

Yup, CPU is at 80-90 on all cores, thanks, time to see if my MoBo can support a better i7/9,

Thank you.

If you have a 5820K then you are on x99. The best cpu you can get on that platform would be the 6950x. Honestly that's not much of a jump in performance. But, it would help.

Which isn't even worth it because any modern CPU would demolish it in single-core IPC, even just an i5-12400 or R5 5600 is considerably faster and uses considerably less power. Support for PCI-e 4.0 also raises performance slightly when it comes to the 3080 Ti and above.

X99 is a dead platform that isn't worth dumping money into considering the cost of such a niche and outdated platform. Not even worth mentioning.
