Flatlined upon launching through Steam
For some reason i get a flatline error when I click play on the RED launcher when I launch the game through Steam.
But if I run the "REDprelauncher.exe" directly from the game folder (E:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Cyberpunk 2077), it boots the Red launcher and game runs when I click play and I can play my save. Only thing though is that on my Steam it doesn't show that I'm playing the game at all, so I don't think I get any achievements. which I guess isn't a big deal.

It might be because I tried Vortex Mod manager which I never got any of the mods working so I ended up deleting the mods and vortex all together and tried doing a clean install which just does the same thing.

Here is what I've tried.
1) I've Reinstalled the game multiple times + verify integrity files.
2) Updated drivers
3) enabled /disabled steam overlay

I checked the crash report which I read that the error is pretty generic, but it reads:

"Registered crash info file...
InternalVersion: 3.0.4232417 P4CL: 5147962 Stream: /R6.Root/R6.Release
!!!CRASHED!!!
Error Reason: Unhandled exception
Expression: EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION (0xC0000005)
Message: The thread attempted to write to an inaccessible address at 0x7FF917C81610.

Line: 0"

Any one else experiencing this or have any suggestions?

Same here it's got something to do with the recent patch it's the only thing I can think of.
I've done a full system format, fresh windows all the recent updates, drivers, even reinstalled steam and CP22 fresh download of both and it just won't work period I can't even get it to run via your method as I already tried a couple days ago. And you're right I don't think you'll get achievements that way either if you were wanting to get them. This is seriously a head scratcher. CDPR done ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up good.

Daaam man... that's even worst that you can't even play at all, even after full system format :((( Hopefully a new patch comes out soon to fix yours.

Yeah It's crazy, I mean if enough people are having similar issues then cdpr have to look into it and find out what's going on only time will tell, we will see I guess.

I'm having the same issues only Sometimes i will flatline on start up, other times it will crash mid game (even if i'm just idling). Tried doing all the above steps as well.

(0xC0000005) is a broad problem with your computer, not the game. The system is having a problem accessing data because it is pointing to a location that either doesn't exist or is corrupted or is just incorrect.
It has many solutions depending on what the actual problem is.

1. Antivirus, check for viruses and malware.
2. Update or clean and reinstall your graphics drivers (sound drivers may also need fixing).
3. Check for memory errors/bad ram sticks.
4. Check your hard drive for errors.
5. Check for system file corruption:
DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth sfc /scannow findstr /c:"[SR]" %windir%\logs\cbs\cbs.log > "%userprofile%\Desktop\sfcdetails.txt"
You can put that in a text file with a .bat extension and run it as admin or open a command prompt as admin and copy&paste it in.
The first command checks the system file cache for inconsistencies, missing files and corrects/downloads new ones.
The second command checks the active file set for corruption and replaces any with the system file cache version.
The third command checks the log file that the second command creates and finds any entries that indicate that a file couldn't be fixed. You may have to run this in safe mode or from the recovery console to fix.

These are just some of the fixes, you can just google "(0xC0000005)" to get a huge amount of pages that describe all the fixes because it doesn't matter what program caused it, it's a system problem.

I super appreciate the suggestion! Will definitely give those a try. Thanks so much for the response!

Having the same issue, loading up the game only for it to crash after 5 mins or so. Done all the usual steps but nothing has worked.

I finally managed to get it to launch through Steam tonight after scouring through tons of Reddit Posts and public forms with no success since I made this post.

So in case anyone else is having similar issues with the
"Expression: EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION (0xC0000005)
Message: The thread attempted to read inaccessible data at 0x... etc".

This all I did (After trying all the usual steps).

1) Go into the game folder: SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Cyberpunk 2077

2) Right click "REDprelauncher.exe" > properties > "compatibility" tab > check "run as administrator". Click apply.

3) Go into Bin folder> x64 > right click "Cyberpunk2077.exe" > properties > compatibility tab > check "run as administrator". Click apply.

This is what worked for me after trying multiple.

Hope this helps.
