I seem to have fixed this issue with at least myself. What I ended up doing was moving the receiver for my wireless headset from a case USB port to a mobo one in the back. That seemingly reduced, I'm guessing here, the load on some component. I have played a couple of sessions for a lot longer than before this fix for over an hour each with zero problems. I hope this helps anyone else with this problem and hopefully CDPR finds out why this all of a sudden happened after 1.6.
