PC crashing
So, I reinstalled the game after 5 months to revisit and try new patch and goodies. For some reason the game keeps crashing my PC a lot, to the point I can't play for 10-30 minutes (if I'm lucky). My PC just stays on while tower fans are running, screen goes black. This is the only game that's happening. What strange is the game actually runs way better than before. Like a lot better.

I ran PC diagnostics, and it's not showing any signs of failure or anything alike. GPU's top temperature is 73 degrees (which is pretty normal), and CPU load is around 60%.
Didn't change anything from the last time I played, not in-game or hardware wise. GPU driver is updated to the latest version. I'll note that is the only game I experience such a thing.

Anyone has any clue what's happening or experienced similar thing?

Without knowing anything about your system other than it's not overheating, try setting Cascaded Shadows Resolution, Distant Shadow Resolution and Subsurface Scattering Quality all to low, if you can. 1.6 is demanding on some things and that's currently making some systems fall over so settings dialled back might help.

Other issue present is Cascaded Shadows Resolution can cause crashes for some people on 'Medium' (but not low or high).

But just a guess from other reports.

My specs:
Win10
I7 3770
12 GB RAM DDR3
GTX 1060 3GB
HDD Barracuda 1 TB

I do have HP proprietary PSU 320 Watts, but never had issues and stress test showed no problems at higher GPU loads. I'll try your solution to see what'll happen.

Issue could well be vram related so dialling back settings would hopefully help with that. Good luck regardless, and if that doesn't help hope someone else has some useful ideas for you.

I don't know if this will help, but I did read here in the forums that a few people have said that manually deleting ALL folders and files leftover after the uninstall of previous versions make the game run properly again. My guess is that would include clearing your steam cloud saves and not allowing one drive (which is known to cause problems) to replace what you have removed.

Your PC cries literally for this Mod (i have a low rig as well):

FSR 2.1 Mod for performance boost

I think your solution worked! Will run several more times today to see was the first attempt just a luck or will keep the game stable.

Already deleted some previous files and Steam cloud was off so there is no remains of it. Thank you for the advice.

Will keep this one in mind just in case. I'm tempted to try it.

At least you've got a starting point, even if you need to dial down further on a few settings. Good luck and have fun with the game.

It's still crashing. As soon as I pass 20 minutes mark of consecutive playing, it goes down.

Oof. I'm out of ideas, sorry, because I'm not sure what you need to do to get the game running normally on a 3gb 1060 other than keeping dialling down, especially not on 1.6 as it is currently. Hopefully someone will suggest something.

Your pc is really borderline for being able to run the game at all. What you want to look at is the CPU temps and not the GPU. The game is very heavy on the CPU and the 3770 is an old CPU.

Hope that one, too.

The problem is, I played the game 5 months ago without any issues. Was low fps (around 30), but never had crashing issues. I reinstalled my GPU driver to check that up and will see what happens. If it keeps crashing, I'll pause the play until CRPR address the issue.
Before purchasing the game I watched some videos to see how PCs of similar specs are running it. As I've seen my PC is is capable of running, I got it. I really don't know where is the problem. This shouldn't happen.
