That mission isn't anything special anyway he just becomes a netrunner shop once you save him and he didn't have anything I wanted to buy
Doesn't work at all for me. I'm guessing you have different Gamma settings and brightness; I have mine adjust to only slightly more than what it tells you to adjust it to. I think I was probably walking into crates too, because they all fell over when I opened one of the boxes on my way in.
Pretty much a major physics catastrophe whenever I open one of those things around crates or garbage bags, or other objects like that.
I used flashbangs to light up the room so I could find my way around, so I'm thinking they might have tossed them out of the way and opened a path. Didn't occur to me until after I posted this.
I also noticed, if you go and stand in the hologram, it lights up the room a bit. Whatever ambient light is in that area, more or less permeates the entire space from inside it, but it isn't really that helpful because it's in a bad position to see the room.
Anyway, the main thing is the floor grate interaction wasn't available from anywhere within the crawlway.
I was mostly talking about the problem you had of the floor grate on the crawlway, i didn't had any issues, and btw if i recall correctly, there is no interaction with the floor grate, its already opened by the time i arrived at it.
If its closed for you, maybe its a script that opens them to kinda indicate that the netrunner is openning the floor grate for you. So what may be happening is that the script that is supposed to play of the floor grate being openned is getting stucked or failing to start for some reason, these kind of issues can be usually solved by reloading an earlier save and trying again. So if go back to a save from before you took the mission if you can and try again.
It says it's un-powered, so I assume there's no means of opening it remotely. That seems to be how they keep you from hacking a door open anyway; not sure if it applies to the NPCs.
I haven't been there in a bit, might be open when I reload the area
It worked. I went back and the grate was open, and all the crates were properly stacked again. I expect something possibly broke, and closed the grate when the physics proxies flipped out.
