Arasaka Hotel Black screen Areas

So I am in the main mission and in parts of the Arasaka hotel there are black screen areas, areas where the UI still renders but the game just renders black otherwise. This doesn't seem to match up with most peioples black screen experience, and I have not seen it anywhere else besides this hotel. Here is a video to show what I mean.

Clearly unplayable, does anyone else have this issue or a workaround?

Try not skipping ahead and see if that bug persists. Looks like you found a significant bug. Any mods?

no mods. and I get the same when not skipping. I just skipped for the sake of the video. The same happens in the hotel lobby when arriving in the delamain, from just before the security checkpoint to just before you reach the elevator it is all black except for the UI. But there I could navigate on the minimap.

I've been poking and found a partial workaround. Pressing tab to go into scanning mode renders the world. but that is not really a viable way to play. Moving elsewhere in the world I haven't encountered the same issue just in this hotel.

Might be new bug in 1.2, I never seen that problem anytime I played before on 3 different playthroughs

Could be a lighting issue, so like the map is rendered, you can move and hit obstacles but everything is black. Honestly, I am not sure. Maybe try verifying integrity and see if that helps.

already tied that didn;t help. Also updated graphics drivers. And yeah the world is there just not rendered right.

I have the same bug in the same mission, was there ever a fix to this?

yes. I don't have it anymore, either the game patch fixed it or a driver update.

I ground through the darkness and finished the mission and it went away. Thanks for the reply

There is another area, another hotel that shows up in some side gigs that has the same issue. At least it did for me, but it's a lot smaller. That is the only two areas I have found it in, in my 120 or so hours of play. But as I said some update somewhere along the way fixed the bug for me. After beating the game I put it down for a month or two and when I went back for a second run the bug was gone.

This happened yesterday with me and lasted for the entirety of the mission 'The Heist'. As soon as I entered the hotel it went black (except for the UI). Couldn't find any solutions so I had to switch to scanner view and back to navigate and eventually complete it. Annoying af

It aint fixed still, cause i just got it, no mods or anything.

Annoying, black screen, only can see when i tap the scan button, started just after the boy game ended his father lol

Messed with the graphics settings but it doesnt do anything, i dont wanna have to restart the whole mission ugh

Game wont let me save either, and doesnt have an auto save anywhere past interacting with the bar in the lobby. :/

I find solution on reditt.

Fixing fps on max 30 (i fxed on 42) and black screen disapare.

I have the same problem now. It start right after entering the building. It works in Scanner-mode and half a second after scanner mode.

For me it was turning NVidia Reflex OFF (was set to on+boost) that "fixed" the all red 1st floor and black screen inside the penthouse. Have since turned it back on+boost without encountering the black screen. Yet.

Reddit posts indicate numerous other on/off settings for different people fixing it for them.

HDR was the issue. Turned it off and it worked again
