Spoilers ahead: Can't shoot during car chase scene

Second playthrough, still experiencing the same issue as the first- I'm unable to shoot after dex shoots V, during the motorcycle chase scene directly thereafter. V gets up to shoot, but when I try to fire, jumps back into the car for no reason. I've had one workaround, which seems completely inconsistent- that is switching weapons and hoping for the best. Sometimes when you're lucky the gun starts automatically shooting, I have no idea why but swapping weapons sometimes causes the gun to automatically fire and the one motorcycle guy dies.

EDIT: Also I may have just realized something, it could possibly be because I use Q for primary fire, and the scripted sequence only allows default bindings for that key or something?

For anyone else experiencing the issue, if you use the short circuit hack during the fight, it seems like you ONLY have to deal some damage to the motorcyclists in order to reach the next part of the scripted sequence. Ridiculous that I need to use quickhacks to survive a fight on my 3 int shotgun build.
