Do you have surround headphones? I'm using 5.1 surround and having issues hearing V speak. I think surround is implemented poorly. Try switching to stereo.

I have the same issue! If I find a fix I'll let you know but at least this means others probably have this issue and a fix might come.

ive got a 7.1 headphone, but switching it to stereo didn't help, i also tried all the options in the ingame sound settings, but there was no difference...

I have a 7.1 Logitech g35, I also tried playing it with earbuds but had the same issue. I also noticed other sounds like gunshots from a firing range had the same audio issue as the npcs.

I streamed me playing the game to a friend and he didn't have the audio issues while I did. It might be a problem with our drivers.

I've tried everything. I'm using Corsair Void Pro 7.1

Surround on and off for both 2 and 8 channel modes. Stereo mode with Corsair driver disabled. Dolby Atmos with Corsair driver disabled. It just sounds bad all the time. Only game I've encountered like this.

So, while trying to uninstall my sound drivers I accidentally made my headset only work in stereo (control panel->sound->(right click)Configure speakers) and the npc audio worked properly. But then my 7.1 surround sound didn't work for anything. So after fixing that and getting 7.1 back, the npc audio is back to having this issue. The game must have an issue with 7.1 surround sound.

My headset has a switch that swaps it to stereo but that doesn't work for Cyberpunk if my headset is set to 7.1 in (control panel->sound->(right click)Configure speakers).

as luck would have it, my g933 broke jesterday, and because i had problems with the logitech software since years, i now bought a new one from corsair. the problem with surround in cyberpunk is now gone, so i think it a problem from both logitech and cyberpunk...
