Does Wakako's Tiger Claw Smartlink do anything special?
The description says something about jamming Smart weapons [being used against you, presumably] but is there really any reason to prefer it to the regular high-level Smartlink mods you can buy from a ripper?

I've not used smart weapons in an age but it used to have a slight jamming effect on other smart weapons where some of the bullets would appear to get directed away. Was also something you could see when trying to shoot Tyger Claws with a smart gun.

Thanks. It must be a pretty subtle effect. I'll have to test it out when I get farther in the game. In my current game I bought a Smartlink before even doing the Pickup or the Heist. I think it will help get through those adventures.

Update: I had the Tiger Claw SmartLink installed during the Big In Japan gig, and shots from the enemies' Chao pistols were definitely missing me a lot, even at close range. Developing...

My conundrum is that I want to use the Ballistic Coprocessor for Power weapons, but only use the very rare Smart guns that don't require a link. Gotta think about this.

Unless you're doing it for roleplay reasons, way I always saw it was that the jamming effect was really only useful against Tyger Claws, some Arasaka, and on those few occasions you come up against Kang Tao. So it's a nice little effect, it's irritating when the other side have it if you're using smart guns, but it's pretty niche. But then I tend to end up using tech weapons unless deliberately trying something else.

Aren't those three groups the main [if not exclusive] users of Smart Weapons? I'm going to play around with this and see what happens. Since it's possible to swap back and forth between Smartlink and Ballistic Coprocessor, should be fun. Although...one of the Smart weapons that doesn't require the link doesn't seem to be where I found it last time. I don't know if it's been removed from the game, or moved, or just not available on my current Lifepath. Developing...

Yeah, main groups with smart weapons so why I mentioned them. And loot in open world has been moved around a bit as they fit things to suit a new philosophy on what, where and when to place it. Have fun with your build!

It would make a lot of sense to me if a Legendary/Iconic Smartweapon had this as a feature...not just a random pickup. But I'm now testing out _every_ Smart weapon I pick up before I decide to dump it...
the wiki states that in the game code there is no jamming. it's flavor text only

Smart gun deflection was most definitely a thing even if you don't believe your own eyes, people successfully modded it out - can't speak to 1.6 though.
