Dynalar Sandevistan + EX-DISK - Workaround for not being able to quickhack?
I noticed the Dynalar Sandevistan doesn't permit you to quickhack, which is a shame because it is obviously a very powerful mod, but it sets your ram to 0.
But the Ex-Disk gives you a small amount of extra ram - does anyone know if this works as a workaround?

You need a cyberdeck to hack. The sandevistan and berserk aren't cyberdecks. They are alternatives.

Apparently I didn't formulate my question clearly enough: I'm fully aware of what these devices are supposed to do - I'm stating that it appears that the device disables/does not enable the quickhacking, and that it might have something to do with the fact that it sets your base ram to 0.

I am asking if anyone has tried pairing the sandevistan or beserk units with the Ex-Disk cyberware to see if this enables quickhacking with a non-cyberdeck cyberware installed.

Read the description of the cyberdeck that you have equipped. It gives you the hacks. I understood exactly what you asked and answered clearly. You can't hack without a cyberdeck. This has been asked many times by other people, and verified that you cannot hack without a cyberdeck. But go ahead and test it yourself.

It would make for an interesting way to play if you wanted to go more weapon focused route instead of net running, but that can make stealth hard.

There's the arasaka software mod which supposedly increases your stealth capabilities while sandevistan is active. (I have not tested it extensively, and sandevistan sort of nerfs your stealth capability because while it slows time for many things, it does not slow how fast enemies detect you, from your perspective.)

That said, I've completed a bunch of stealth objectives in the game using sandevistan with only one arasaka software mode equipped on it. (Though, I should also admit that I took advantage of a ... perhaps unintended ... "feature" of the kiroshi scanner mechanism.)
