Question about MaxTac
English is not my first language so if there is any spelling mistakes, sorry.

So is this intentional game design or a bug in the game?

So, when I get the first round of MaxTac officers, the damage they dish out is max 175hp and I'm flatlined in 4 to 8 hits depending on adrenaline boost and I laugh at their damage output.

The second round of MaxTac is totally different and the rest of the rounds after the second round, they dish out like min 200hp to 400hp.
And I'm flatlined in 2 to 5 hits depending on adrenaline boost but I don't laugh anymore and I have to be seriously careful about not getting hit.

you need to take on the hardest level of them as part of the choice you make. (don't want to spoil it with too many detes here.)

if you are wanting more difficulty, you should consider mods.

Enemies of Night City will give you a good run for your money. it overhauls all enemies and gives bosses more..ooomph. new movesets and abilites ect.
scroll down a bit on the main page for the mods trailer video, to see if this might be your thing.

yes, MaxTac are supposed to be this tough.
it stands for Maximum Tactical.

if you are talking about the MaxTac folks who turn up in the expansion (if you are working with Reed over SoMi after the choice point) those officers are also meant to be harder to kill.

they are the hardest foe's (other than Adam Smasher) in the lore. the ones that take down cyberpsycho's and rampaging full borg's.

(though none of them are hard for some people, they are hard for other's to beat)

if you are doing the main story mission in the expansion where they arrive, and you are playing on hard/very hard difficulty, try turning it down a little (normal or easy) for just that part of the game.
check your armor cyberware to make sure you have the best (maybe swap out the optical camo if you have that installed, since hiding won't help you there in that fight)
look to your perks and skills, see if you have ones to get you enough damage or healing.
try using the cyberware called 'BioMon' it's a bio monitor that will heal you for a chunk of health when you have low hp.
and invest in the 'second heart' cyberwear, this will help you by bringing you back to life when you hit 0hp (but it can only do it so many times per seconds. can't remember what the time limit is though, sorry)

Here is my first playthrough's build https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3255702101

I should've formatted the question a bit better sorry.

So I meant when going crazy outside the missions that's when MaxTac does this kinda of damage.
Well I guess it starts to make sense when I think about it.
I'm playing very hard difficulty but I enjoy the challenge.

I started my first playthrough on normal but switched to very hard about halfway through as the game became too easy and got curious about what kinda whooping I'll get.

Most boss battles were annoying as the bosses are a bullet sponge and
Oh and I didn't even know there is a MaxTac boss battle in the PL expansion, might've done something that skips it.

And thank you for tips, next playthrough I might do a netrunning ninja build as I've seen videos about and I hope it should be a good time.
