is INT still a dump stat if you don't plan on using a cyberdeck?

If you're not planning on using Netrunning nor smart weapons, then there's no point in investing into it unless you want some INT based dialogue choices.

Yes every stat is a dump stat if you do not care about what weapon it is tied to or the play style it is linked to.

BUT.... taking every stat to 4 unlocks stuff for vehicles. And you can easily get two stats to 20 and everything else to 9 with some left over. Which unlocks the bottom half of the perks which all have one to two things in them that are handy for most playstyles

Some cyberware is also INT attuned, so if you have the points to spare you might want to invest into INT to get those bonuses up. Then there is also that one perk in the tech tree where you get +4 cyberware capacity for each attribute at lvl 9 or higher, so that could be another incentive. By themselves, those might not be worth it though.

the +4 nets you 20 more cap. Which is nice for 1 perk point. But not so nice that if you dont want ot take everything to 9 for it becuase of some other needs in your build is not the end of the world. Since Cyber Cap shards exist and can add 1-4 to your total cap for nothing but a little murder and looting. But they are rare at level 40 I've only seen about 5 of them and only 1 of those was +4

Yep, same as Body if you wanted to play netrunner. But as you cannot play netrunner now, the point is, I suppose, moot.

This is absolutely horrible advice. You don't want to dump body as a netrunner, as your top tier perk, called overdrive, will burn health for RAM, so the extra health from your body stat translates to RAM.

Mind you it doesn't have to be a huge stat increase, but you do want some points in it.

Plus as others have said taking it to at least 4 will unlock health regen in combat perks, which again, translates to RAM for a netrunner.

As a netrunner with a body of 4 its not all that. Body only gives you like 1 health per point. and you have something like 200 health. That extra 20 form body is not going to matter much. and also there are perks to get health BACK while over clocking making body even more pointless for a runner.

Extra RAM to me is extra RAM, which translates to Body stat. I'll take what I can get.

Personally, I go with a 20 Int, 15 Tech (mostly for cyberware boost perks), and 15 Cool (for Ninjitsu), 9 Reflexes (for Dash) and the rest into body (though I only take the Combat Health Regen perks).

I'm not arguing that Body's health return isn't mediocre, but the more RAM I get the happier I am as a Netrunner. 20 health is an entire extra attack (give or take), and extra health comes in happy when you have to switch to monowire and get in someone's face.

So you made body your last stat.... so it is your /dump/ stat

Okay fair point. The point I was trying to make though is I wouldn't not invest it in as a Netrunner, which was the point I was originally countering.

What are you up to? Body is awesome if you want to fully use your netrunner to the fullest O.o.

1. Get int 20 for overclock + quickhack spread
2. Get at least body 4 for health regen
3. Get at least tech 15 for more health item charges + heal amount + cooldown + buffing heal cyberwares
4. Get heal + auto heal cyberware
5. Use overclock & kill everything
6. ???
7. Profit

To answer OP, yeah you can dump int.

There are no real "dump stats". It's actually done pretty well.

Intelligence helps with smart weapons. So if you're into that, there's still a lot of value.

In the Tech tree is a perk that increases Cyberware capacity for every attribute above 9 and Int unlocks some dialogue choices. But I agree the stat is otherwise pretty useless for non netrunners.

Getting 15 int only for a tad bit better smart weapon usage is a waste of points that are most likely put somewhere else in a better way. On top of it the Smart weapon tree works best with the weapon tree you want to use so you need to use smd/AR/pistol points too. The only build that makes me swim in useless points is the blade build or blunt build because sandevistan melee builds are stupid OP.
