The only two ways I've found to stop the trace is to either run away (about 500-ish feet or so) from where you were when you hacked the enemy, or you have to neutralize every enemy in that group. Say if you come up to a trio of thugs on the street, you have to take down all three of them. A dozen goons around a compound for a gig? Have to take down all of them before that trace runs out. Or you just keep running away after every hack like a very apologetic hit-man with short-term memory loss.
I've been hoping for someone to tell me of some legendary-level hack with some passive bonus to trace evasion -just so I have a goal and know it can be done- but I've yet to see anything. My stealth-netrunner build was ruined by the last update, and I'm convinced now that you either go stealth, or netrunner, but not both. Best it can do now is distracting enemies to sneak up and give them the hug-of-doom. :'(
T3 Sonic Shock is enough to cut the target off from comms, so you can then use a normally-traceable hack like Short Circuit and drop them without a trace.
Self-ICE cyberware still exists, but you have better uses for your limited head cyberware slots.
