Is there some sort of cyberpunk hardcore setting?
A version of the game where bullet sponging by the enemies and by the player is low.

Funny because that would be playing it on easy then.

Hardcore being 3-5 shots per placement? I've only played on very hard and realize it's kinda wack to have to go nuts on basic enemies.

Just pulled up to a 3 person crew on the streets and the firefight was a little ridiculous. Threw a grenade at their feet and still had to avoid them until I beat them. I enjoy it cause it engaging but a little over the top.

Also tried a psycho mission (very beginning) and my weapons weren't doing much of anything.

There are mods for this sort of thing. I'm thinking about dropping it to normal. I already beat it on very hard and probably don't want to deal with it anymore.

I've seen people post the mods here on the discussions.

There was a hardcore mod for 1.63 that was fun. I assume they'll eventually update it for 2.0. That said, I only found enemies to be bullet sponges early on. Even without the associated perks, I'm able to 1-shot with knives and shotguns, and 2-shot with pistols on very hard. With just spraying the Fenrir SMG, one clip is usually enough for 2 enemies (more if I aim for headshots instead of spraying).

The only time enemies feel spongy are when I'm using LMGs (I don't have any points in body perks), or when I'm fighting the cyberpsychos. LMGs in particular have felt pretty bad for me compared to other weapons but, again, that may just be an issue of me not putting perks into them.

Does that also apply to the player though?

Put the difficulty on Hard, and take off Aim Assist.

If you use aim assist, you're not really playing the game.

Turned that off immediately after that beginning car chase. So dumb that stuff is on by default for pc.

There's a damage scaling mod out there that I haven't tested since 2.0. It lets you choose how much damage you do and receive. I'm about to try it because I'm tired of shooting random goons in the face multiple times while bullets ping off of me non-threateningly.
