In-Game "Files" when accessing computers
ok, I'm wondering what these do exactly? When I try to google it all I'm getting is stuff on Cyberpunk 2077's actual game files but nothing on the "files" tabs that exist in the game itself when you access NPC computers. Not sure how else to really describe what I'm talking about here, but on some of the in-game computers you can access, they'll have multiple tabs like "messages" "local network" "net" and occasionally "files".

Are these just little easter eggs, or can you actually access the files for minor rewards similar to the Breach Protocol?

Files tend to be what would be 'files' on an NPC's computer. Think of the tabs as 'Email' and 'My Documents' and 'Chrome' Night City style. So what's in 'Files' could be a report, a list of items they have, video clips (which will play if so), and so on. There's no extra reward associated to them. Some quests will ask you to download a file from a PC but that will be given as an interactive option when you use the PC. It's more often worldbuilding type stuff, just as the messages are, which often link to other NPCs or events if you can make the connection.

Thanks, this is precisely the info I was after :) good to know I'm not missing out on anything when I come across them randomly.

There's a couple of occasions I can think of where it isn't flagged up that things on a PC can offer different solutions for other quests or different outcomes but generally, yeah, if you don't want the worldbuilding you can just rely on the ingame prompting.
