Siding with Songbird is a ripoff
Siding with Reed is so much more fun and fleshed out. If you side with Song all you do is take her to the airport, fight hordes of dudes, and then get a cutscene. Siding with Reed you get to fight MaxTac, chill more with Reed, fight Hansen and get his weapons, get a whole Cynosure scary section, get Blackwall weapons, and get to say FU to the president, get to actually learn Songs backstory. I decided to replay and its so much better. I wager most people wont bother replaying the missions and will potentially miss out on so much cool content. Wish they put as much effort into the Songbird path.

btw did anyone succeed with the aniper turret mission when you have to cover reed undetected?

I dunno but I never made it through stealthy

yeah kinda annoying at first but after a while I appreciated the change and them trying something new

Reed is another Goro Takemura. A very rare breed in 2077. These guys will give their life for their word and their beliefs. If you get on the wrong side of either of those you're dead. If not then they're the most dependable friends/allies you could ever hope for.

Reed basically beats himself up for 2 years not coming to your original operation, thinking everything would be work out without him. He doesn't move on like others that knew V. Very loyal.

Yeah very loyal, than any higher up orders an execution and he kills you without hesitation.

Reed has twisted himself between loyalty to his country and loyalty to his team. As such, he just doesn't have any ♥♥♥♥♥ left to give for anyone else. His cold-blooded murder of the Cassels emphasizes this; it was the simplest means of maximizing the survival and success rate of the operation. He'd nuke an entire city like Johnny if the NUSA ordered him to and the alternative was leaving one of his operatives to die.

I did on very hard, I didn't even think it was possible to progress if you get detected.

The Tower is the worst ending in the game and the least canonizable. It's more of an "oops you screwed up dude" than an ending.

Also, that alien isolation type part feels very out of place since V took out a chimera at the beginning of the story.

Personally liked Songbird's content, and how shocked I was at the twists and turns. I also liked the set pieces.

One thing I don't think gets talked about enough is Johnny's PL dialogue and performance. He has such great commentary on everyone's predicament--particularly Song and Reed. That scene at the end of Songbird's path with Johnny tied everything together emotionally and philosophically for me.

yeah I mean I didnt hate it but objectively its much shorter than the Reid path, and you miss a ton of story details you get otherwise

Imho, the ending paths complement each other very well. The Reed path as the "evil" ending offers a lot of background material, while the Song path as the "good" ending offers as much of a satisfying conclusion as circumstances and setting allow.
It's obviously tailored for players who try out both paths, at the obvious risk that people who don't do that miss out on parts.

Siding with Reed makes no sense for a V as a character. It is basically the same as siding with Arasaka ending, but with extra steps and more risk.

TBH, I was very surprised to know that siding with Reed actually gets you somewhat good ending and they keep their end of a bargain. The whole story is "if you do dirty job for FIA you get dumped when you are not useful anymore".

Although it is a barely good end. Johny dead, you are crippled.

If only quantum tuner would not require such massive amount of cyberware slots...

Couldn't say, I refuse to side with Reed after he planned to kill the netrunners behind my back.

That, and I strongly suspect he also killed Jacob and Taylor based on the text he sends you about them (They've been "dealt with" or something to that effect), and you don't (to my knowledge) see or hear from them again.
I think Jacob and Taylor were rewarded. That is because ,it is in the Myers to do list you find on the table in the hideout. it isthe last line item and she writes something like Anonymous pay to J. & T.

Why would you side with that little manipulating tramp? She is clearly damaged beyond repair. Reed is the only option here.
reed's just as damaged and is also a manipulating liar that blindly follows orders from an even colder manipulative liar (Myers).
while they are all scum, Song is a victim of the NUSA and Reed's doings and at least V can sympathise with Songs situation being similar to his/her own. and imo makes more sense canonically that V would side with Song.

that being said i do like the maxtac fight and the cynosure stealth mission and songs flashback story that you get by siding with reed
they should probably work in song opening up to you and being able to see her backstory flashback in both paths.

First playthrough is always myself and Id never side with the government let alone let them have someone as strong as Song in their pocket. But maybe in my curiosity playthrough where I do things differently Ill side with Reed

Yeah I agree, but what you get for making that decision is trash. You get betrayed by Song, and you get trash tier content comparatively.
