can you kill P if you side with the N?

Can you kill Placide if you side with the Netwatch in "I walk the line?" I already playthrough this quest several times with different options. But the last time I sided with Netwatch, I don't think I got to fight Placide at all which is a great shame.

I had to have V fight Placide every time I made V side with Netwatch. He was always waiting in the church... and not for a wedding ceremony... but more like for V's intended funeral.

Still whether alive or defeated, Placide always texts V afterward. That's the part that confuses me.

Yes. You do it after you meet with Alt Alt will fry the VDB's in the room with you, but Placide will be in the church, near the exit

That was how it was for me when i sided with Netwatch.

But the fact that he texts you after you killed him makes it sound like a bug that he was there lol and not intended by the dev XD
