A question about "chippin in" and the games endings.

I'm nearing the end of my first playthrough, I've already spoiled the endings for myself (thanks twitter) and I want the ending where V is cured. But I'm on the chippin in mission ATM. I've seen if you make the proper dialog choices, you can unlock the fear the reaper ending. But if I choose the proper responses, am I LOCKED IN to that ending, or is it simply to just unlocked the ability to choose said ending?

no.

you can still take the Cure ending on the rooftop if you want to, even if you picked the correct choices.
(provided you also fullfilled the needed choices to get the cure ending)

Missions can only unlock possible endings. The player always gets the choice between all unlocked endings. (The one mentioned here is a specific option that is unlocked in a slightly different way.)

To add: You can experience all of the possible endings without being "locked-in" so long as you: 1) choose the proper dialogue option during "Chippin' In", 2) complete Panam's story as (at least) her friend, 3) side with Reed and keep Songbird alive in PL.

You can be locked-out of your intended ending if you do the opposite of #3 (above).
