SPOILER question about VOODOO BOYS quest

Spoilers about Voodoo Boys, you have been warned.

After dealing with the Animals at the mall, figuring out Placide ♥♥♥♥♥♥ me with the virus and getting back to him, why can't I just blast him with my shotgun? I can't even pull out my gun as the game won't let me. Nobody took away my weapons as it happens at other stages. Still have my gorilla arms and cyberdeck anyway, so don't even need the guns even if they did take them.

Inevitable "If it's an RPG why can't I do what I want and be evil?" question. I just... want to be an ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. Maybe after blasting Placide apart I could "persuade" Brigitte to help me anyway. Or just hack into their system after killing her and do it myself since I have max intelligence.

Makes no sense how narrow the path in this apparently branching quest is.

sounds like you didnt continued that Questline yet, to see how it unfolds.
yeah.... Placide is not really a likeable character. Netwatch arent really trustworthy themself. So agreeing to his terms ultimatively deals with both "issues"....
....even if it means slaughtering every Target in the Mall and then, exaggeratedly said, leaving the Mall drenched in blood and saying to his 2 henchman "i will find him".

You can also kill him if Brigitte is killed

Because you first have to meet Alt, mandatory part of the amin quest.
You're free to kill him afterward.

Unkillable NPCs protected by plot armor. You can't even point your weapon at them, Nothing works. Grenades, Running them over, That and all the invisible walls sometimes breaks my immersion and makes it feel like I'm walking around a movie set at times.
