I sided with The Voodoo Boys and spared Placide...
Yes I actually went down that route.

My current V felt that he could trust the VBs more than he could trust some smooth-talking, too-slick corpo rat from Netwatch.

You felt that you could trust the shady untrustworthy faction that betrayed and tried to kill you multiple times, over the guy that offers the relatively harmless route and is trying to protect humanity?

Netwatch is a corp for sure, but at least they're not trying to bring about the destruction and enslavement of humanity.

plus the VBDs used Evelyn and were gonna kill her regardless of everything that happened, and for that alone they deserve to die.
In my first playthrough, I (the player) didn't know who V should trust and had V stick with the plan. After that, what was done was done, and Alt stated it would handle things from there.

In later playthroughs with meta knowledge, I had V take a chance that Netwatch was being honest (and turns out that they were). Whatever their motivations, they had no intention of breaking the system for their own purposes. Maybe, keeping the Blackwall secure suited their purposes, but their plans wouldn't risk another Rabbids situation. Stability isn't easy to come by in NC, and the powerful players are the only things keeping gangs like VBs, Maelstrom, and the rest, from making NC implode.

NW serves a purpose for the survival of NC, and VBs were willing to let NC collapse through their own actions.

That's from the metagame, though.

it depends on which of my V's I'm playing.

Valerie follows the streetkid 101. never trust a Corp.
so sides with the gangs whenever it's against the Corps.
she will walk away. not because she can't take them (she can) but because she's keeping Alt's bargain with them. Alt arranged for her to be able to leave, and so she does.
(even tho, if things did not turn out the way they did, the VDB's would have sent someone later to flatline V, and this time, use a bullet, not a cyber attack lol)
plus, she already got to punch Placide XD nd he got sent away with his tail between his legs. that's enough (for now, she reasons)

Veronica on the other hand... she will take the lot of them down. normally she sides with the Corps, being one herself, but this time she's worried if she does side with the Corp, it will cost her.
firstly because she's slipping, even by the time she meets them early on. mind is starting to go feral and kill is her default setting (lol)
second, because they lied and betrayed her (even tho she didn't trust them, she gave them a chance, and they blew it trying to kill her.) if they had not tried to fry her, she might have just walked away... on a good day. but today is never a good day, and that craving is itching in her sword hand lol. she's not a cyberpsycho yet, and them boosting her connection to Johnny helps, but they broke the deal. they pay the price.

Victor Masters always sides with a Corp.
so he gets them all fried, no big deal. he treats anyone that can't further his own personal cause just like the VDB's do anyone not from Pacifica. he's fine with that attitude, it's goten him as far as it had within Arasaka and he's hoping it will get him higher. a few crispy netrunners is not his concern (especially as he is a runner himself, so he knows whats going on there)

one of my Nomad girls is a pacifist type, so she walks away. (peacefull to any gig that she can do so with) while the other tends to go 'nomad with a shotgun' on most situations lol

Vinnie the (wanabee) Valentino just punches them to the floor and tries to make pavement art out of them. it's his go-to in most sotuations. but he's a ginger with anger issues XD

Viki, it depends on if they messed with any Mox recently. (she's RP'd as one, till i finally update and grab the gangs of NC mod lol) default is walk away, but if she's seen them mess with anyone that's a Mox... pink baseball bat to the face/cyberdeck lol.

See, this man knows his game. Ultimate player guide right here. Love it. :Catexec:

I do similar work, depending on my life path (or something regardless of lifepath). It's a great and very immersive way to go about your journey in Night City. To see all outcomes through multiple playthroughs with different personalities. :)
@Nar
Thanks for the compliment, choom.

I'm a roleplayer mainly. This has an affect in almost every game I play, one way or another.
Guess it started when I got 'yelled at' to 'go back to the RP realms' around 20 years ago on world of warcraft lol.
A little 'flavour' text, I didn't know was 'for RP realms only' it seemed. Didn't even know I *was* roleplaying tbh.

Since then I noticed I do it all the time.
Every character I make has *some* form of RP in it. Name, reason for being/doing stuff, reason for being where they are ect.

I RP alone on the 'normal' realm I play on (I do my thing, for why I do it lol) so it won't affect anyone else.
It's more visible on the RP realm (I basically have 2 main realms, alliance is on normal, horde is on RP...the opposite of the general way folks seem to do it XD) things like wearing the right transmog for the season, festival or setting ect.

Here in cyberpunk, well I've had the tabletop since the 1990's.
Known folks like Johnny and Rogue from 'back in the day' lol, when I had a couple characters. Both Solo's (Ace and Silver) tho I 'knew' em only in passing...hearing rumours in clubs, seeing news on screens or screamsheets ect.

(Was watching the progress of the computer game from the very start, eagerly waiting to *finally* get to visually walk my home streets as it were)

Watched a day one stream (no commentary, PS4 pro) since I didn't have the game, and wanted to play along. So I rolled my own V (or rather , my own two V's as I rolled 'twins' on the siblings table XD) to play along.
When my input gifted me the game (22nd September, 2022 lol) I made that tabletop version to play...lasted about 30mins before I had to get a mod to stop making V walk/jog/walk/jog.
https://www.nexusmods.com/cyberpunk2077/mods/3966
No walk auto disable mod
Because I was getting so mad that everywhere I walked, V would start walking only to go right back to the default jog.
I WANT TO WALK AROUND, GORAM IT (lol)

Already had a bunch of roleplay things I'd do, even when I just had this one character.
She likes silver clothing (hold over from my earlier Solo, Silver, who was named this for her silver coloured cyber eyes. Name stuck, so she used it as her handle/alias) and as a streetkid, always (ok, 98% of the time lol) sides with the gangs because 'No Corpo's.. Just bin em' lol.

I'm crap at driving cars, so she prefers bikes and walking. (That right there padded my first playthru time...and I added the old metro mod so I could use public transport in game, back in 1.6 and 1.61)
I chose the old Dying Night gun as her signature weapon, silenced because I default to stealth archer (lol) with throwing knives and basic quickhacks.
Valerie would kill the Corpo ncpd points folks and try not to kill the gangoon ones (tho Scav's always got stomped) outside of when working with Takemura, since it's kinda impolite to flatline his fellow wage slaves lol.

It just went on from there.
3 femV's first (Valerie-streetkid, Violet-Corpo and Valkyrie-nomad) who each have their own personality traits and play styles.
3 mascV's next (Vincent-nomad-twin to Valerie, Victor-Corpo and Vinnie-streetkid)

I separated them by my save thumbnail system. (Because I already knew I was keeping them lol)
Guys look at the car door (Sandra Dorset gig, base save) while gals look at Jackie. Guys look at the ceiling fan in the H10 while gals look at the Vend-It machine (act2- post heist save) then when I made any end of playtime save, I'd look out V's window.

Then I got this.
https://www.nexusmods.com/cyberpunk2077/mods/4521
Named saves.
It lets me name my manual save files. No more having to use the thumbnail (sometimes they get the image wrong, so while I still use my thumbnail system, I rely on the mod)

Another 3 femV's added (Veronica-corpo, Verity-nomad and Vikki-streetkid) after that.
And once I finally have to patch up to current (whatever patch number that will be lmao) I'll be adding another gal or two.
There is a combined lifepath start mod which mixed both nomad and Corpo, I think it might be a split point with that event in Mexico. Instead of Corpo V getting saved by Jackie, things went bad and they went nomad, and are now just returning to NC at the start... Wonder if the mod maker can make fully custom ones some day (crossing fingers lol)

Each different V has things I will or won't do, wear, use ect.

Veronica wears red, and a little black. Violet likes purple. Vinnie wears anything Valentino style, so gold accent's. While Victor dresses all in black, suits and so on (i modelled him after the old Roger Delgado and Anthony Aintly versions of the Master from Dr who lol..including the slicked back hair and goatee) but Vikki i play as a Mox, so shes drowing in magenta, pink and plastic gear.

Each V has their basic kill list (Scav's and Wraith's) but while Violet and Veronica are both Corpo's, and they both start out only subduing Corpo forces, Veronica will switch to killing EVERYONE lol, unless the gig says not to.
(She's going slowly 🦇💩 crazy, to the point of replacing 'Murkman' as the city's highest body count 'superhero' vigilante lol)
Valkyrie is the classic 'nomad with a shotgun' style whereas Verity is much more of a pacifist.

It's fun to switch up my playstyle with different V's.

(and yeah, I'm a choombata lol. That's why I got so many girls. And why my game is full of clothes XD. I play 'FashonPunk' at the same time. Style over Substance all the way, gato)

I have yet to play a V who is upset with them. I kind of like they hold their ground versus all the other factions of NC pretty well.

Reading about some of their past, yeah they are scary. But I also have only played V's who love hacking and such, so more is interested in what they can do, and likes that it's not just Corpos and Gov't types running the code.

I only realized now in my 2nd playthru that a fight is staged for Placide in the Chapel, at least I think. Kind of want to try it, and am curious too if the failed blackwall meeting results in good fight with a bunch of netrunners before that. Though, ai for netrunners in combat seems a bit weak. Maybe it is a good fight with good challenge.

You know, you can trust them and still want to massacre them. Placide gives you a real eye opener, why they will never trust you, if you link yourself with the Netwatch Guy.

Personally, my V is a simple Man. If youre nice, V is nice. If you lie to him, he may forgive you if the Lie has a good base.
....and if you betray V or lure him into a trap, he will hunt you down, cut you to pieces and sets your Corpse on fire. Simple Rules, easy to follow :)
I tried to get a rise out of Placide at the chapel exit, every time....
No matter if I punched him or not, I can not get him to fight me there, if I'm walking away.

He always drops for me just outside the train in the crypt. Corridor with barred door in the wall. (when I'm flatlining them)
Glitched out once for Veronica, I had only throwing knives back then, as it was before 2.0 and no Eratta thermal katata back then lol.
He didn't T-pose, but he got stuck in a stand up loop. So I cheesed the ever-lovin out of him as he'd pile drived me into the floor the time before XD

I get the feeling that if things did not go the way they do when V walks away... That Placide would be the one going gunning for V.
That's why he won't rise to the bait at the chapel door.
Far as he's concerned, it's just a matter of time.
That 'watch your back' text you get from him is not him warning you....it's him trying to intimidate V before he gets yeeted past the Blackwall because he *insisted* this time, that Brigitte let him in on the big secret.

He thinks he's just going for a little trip with the nerds who run the net, then when he gets back, he's going to come and deal with the Ranyon....
Lol.
More fool him I guess.
Cheers for that, Alt. Ya saved V's arse without maybe knowing it....
(Tho...Alt being Alt... She probably knew what they would plan to do. Whether she would care if they went after V *after* we get thru with Mikoshi or not tho....*shrugs* dunno)

Good for you, I always side with Netwatch because they intend to murder me from the start.
