Tell Jefferson the Truth or not at the end of Dream On?
I was trying to finish my first playthrough by sticking to my first choices, without reloading to modify my decissions or check other dialogues, and without looking at external sources, but I couldn't made up my mind about whether to tell Jefferson his mind is being manipulated or not.

At first I thought the best was to not tell him (hoping there will be more chances to investigate), as it would probably be safer for them and whoever was behind could just alter their minds later to make them forget anyway. But I didn't like the dialogue as he is going to keep looking and you can't say anything to give him some closure and avoid this.

So I thought I would at least warn him about the truth. I did and wasn't very happy of how it went either. I was brooding over my decission (at the time, tell him the truth), thinking if I should reload, when I noticed Mr. blue Eyes watching over the meeting.

So I thought, I got it, I'll reload, kill that guy, and then tell jefferson the truth. Except I couldn't kill him, as soon as I aimed towards him V lowered the weapon (which I assume is normal behaviour for essential npcs, but also got me thinking that maybe that issue with the screen also affected V somehow...).

So now I'm still brooding, wanting to tell him the truth, but not in fornt of that guy, wondering if at least they'll end up ok if I don't. So what dis you do? What are the consequences of either choice?

Absolutely nothing. After the quest ends , no matter your decision, they will block you from contacting them again via phone and thats it.
You dont see them again during the game.

In the ending epilog where you get phone calls from people you know there is one from Jefferson if you told him the truth. He has gone full paranoia and suspects his wife to be after him and sees danger everywhere.

I suspect there will be a different version of that call if you dont tell him but i only seen the one where i told him in my playthrough.

That's a shame, it's one of the most interesting quests I have done so far in the game... I guess they might follow the story in a future dlc.

The end of this quest was really disappointing. I assume 'tell him' just wasn't the right answer to keep the quest going and maybe not telling him will give you more story.

I hope it gets updated in the dlc or expansions. It would be pretty cool (CDPR, if you see this) to have your decision in the base game have some major impact on a side mission in one of the expansions.

The idea that there are people behind the scenes controlling everything was really good. They even spooked V. I wish we could kill those guys. They’re probably aliens

More likely AI from behind the Blackwall. V even brings that up.

I ended up doing the same thing in my game that I finished yesterday but I pondered quite a bit about this quest if there is maybe a hidden different ending if you could actually find out who is brainwashing the couple. I suspect this because I have seen more of the same sattelite dishes that you find on their roof in the "Dream On" sidejob. I found the exact same sattelite dish on the roof of the hospital during the sidegig: Cuckoo's Nest. The dish gives you the hint that it´s sending a signal within 1.5 miles. Maybe there is something big hidden here with whoever is behind this?

Spent some time today sweeping the area around hospital in the direction the second transmission device was facing, and nada. There is another hint about this, when the hacker girl you rescued at the beginning calls you and gives you a quest to retrieve a shard, if you hack it you can see data on it about some corp which is actually developing the mind control system.
I am hesitant to dedicate more time to investigating this until someone confirms there is more to it, and the content was not cut.

I actually went so far as to predict on Youtube 2 years ago that the game's story would involve AIs from beyond the blackwall interfering with human affairs via Night City government, I see they've either cut that storyline or will be adding it in DLC a year or two from now (assuming they survive)

My main reasoning at the time was the footage they showed about the netrun where you meet Alt, plus existing knowledge about the tabletop lore, plus the "corpthing" semi-viral-marketing-thing

The quest was totally underwhelming btw
