Projekt Orion.
Just read up on what project Orion is about. You're basically a hunter operative for the Orion Corporation, a company the specializes in rescue, target retrieval and assaults. From that perspective I'm guessing the story will either have us set as one of the following.

-Fall guy
-Set up and left for dead
-Mission goes tits up and thought dead
-Or we get the Adam Jensen treatment
-Or even worse the Robocop projekt

So where your money ladies and gents or do you have other ideas of what could happen? I'm also guessing we're not in Night City anymore, cause I never seen any buildings with there name on it. But knowing this much from the info on them, I kinda doubt they would have a notable central location. Because of what they do, this possibly has earned them a lot of enemies. Their founder has already had a run in with Iron Sights, a street gang on Arasaka's payroll. So Orion may be "ON SITE" with Arasaka. So I'm guess it would be in their best interest to be as low profile as possible.

I hope it involves Morgan Blackhand if what you say is what game will be based on.

If I was lead on this? I would have it being part of a job to get Blackhand. An op deep in foreign territory. I would also take advantage of what was learned in 2077. Trick is not to do the same though but how does one also start at 'level 1'

I would start Act 1 with like what we hear Takemura talk about with past. Just some nobody who gets recruited.

Act 1 being you as support for Orion version of Reed. You are on support role for the op. Then things go bad on their end.

Act 2. You are some grunt operative with safehouse blown and team MIA in hostile territory. So begins a campaign where the greatest solo of all time was your target.

Act 3. This is the cumulation of choices. Do you side with the merc, or your mentor...

I think a good plot would be delving into the conspiracies of the biological warfare. Many good ones already established if you listen to Morro Rock. Any Morro Rock conspiracy discussion would make a good plot.

Edit: "Why not just contact HQ" Part of that can be are compromised. So security changed, etc. No way to contact.

I'm hoping it will be team based instead of solo all the time, maybe they can look at Mass Effect for how to do real time squad commands. Games like this, based on a pnp RPG, are meant to be played with a team. You're not meant to play every role in an operation.

Having typed that, the game could be a, "lone survivor," scenario. I.e. one of Orion's targets hits back at them, disabling or eliminating them. Leaving you out in the cold trying to survive.

I have no problem with the idea of Night City being retconned to 2079 and some very big changes and additions being made to it. After all, the entire Dogtown district appeared basically out of nowhere for Phantom Liberty (and I still kinda love my notion that The Tower ending of Phantom could be made canon in the intro to Cyberpunk Orion). But I'm not interested in sifting the Lore of Cyberpunk for clues...the less I know about the specifics of Orion the better, right up until the moment I load it on my PC and boot it up.

I hope we still see Lifepaths, esp. if they really provide a much different experience of the game (unlike the present game, where they don't have a big effect). I also hope we have at least some cameos with familiar NPC characters, although I'm pretty sure we will see a whole new cast of characters and a new story.

(Don't Fear) The Ripper is objectively the best ending you can get, really. And it's the most badass out of all of them.

You're damn right about that, choom. DFTR V is basically a force of nature by the time you play the Epilogue. No spoilers but it's a shame we didn't get to play that final "mission". The ending voicemails are also the best except for Takemura's.

Such a missed opportunity not to continue work on that planned Moon DLC. Could've got that one out while doing pre-production on Orion considering that it's not that far along anyways right now even with a sizable team allocated to it. The Moon DLC could have helped tie up loose ends and given a sense of finality to V's story.

There is no 'best' ending. All have bad points. Start with Devil. Devil is 'worst' for V, but world view, is most likely to come out alive and full health. It also maintains status quo.

Those who say Tower is worst? Uhh... All other ending are Tower in terms of lore. All that changes is V. Nomads has most immediate goodfeels V, but 2079 Night city will still be as per Tower.

Worst ending lore wise is probably Star. Being ending via Rogue or Reaper? Is pretty dark if one digs into and creates theories based on in game lore and events.

My perspective and opinion? True Canon ending would be Female V nomad with Judy. Night city 2079 is absolutely Canon because all but one ending with specific choices lead to Tower for NC. Tower 2079 NC would be a solid starting point for Orion

This is a matter of perspective. I have seen people survive a life-changing catastrophe and still go on to live a satisfying life. As I see it, this game isn't about 'happy endings' but rather standing up to an unpleasant fate, and eventually accepting it, plus the poverty of ambitions (to be a Legend, in this case).

I want to read this thing. Where is it? A search is turning up only this thread over and over.

I can't find anything on it either. On any official site. I think it's all fan speculation at this point.

One thing we do know is that CDPR are quite good at keeping things tight shut before showing any teasers. I doubt they'd spill anything at all about Orion anytime soon. In the last streamed talks with CDPR devs, Gabe wouldn't say a word when asked what Orion would be about.
