getting Chaos and Doom Doom

I wasn't even trying to get Chaos from Royce in "the Pickup" mission because I read you cannot get doom Doom if you got Chaos. The problem is Royce dies within seconds against the 2 militech machines (I'm on very hard) and I can't save him (level8). I got tired of reloading and just went with it and picked up his Chaos pistol.

I'm reading conflicting reports online, some saying if you got his chaos this way, it will still allow you to get Doom Doom since Dum Dum survived and didnt turn hostile during this mission. But others say he will automatically turn hostile in "the second conflict' as if you killed royce yourself.

Can someone confirm which version is true? I feel like if Royce died this way, it should count as if the player has nothing to do with it (which is true), otherwise would feel like a bug if Dum dum treats it as if you killed him yourself.

The two choices are that if Royce dies, but you let Brick loose, he will be running the gang later, or if both Royce and Brick went to the big rock concert in the sky, then a gangoons called Patricia takes over (i think that's her name)

Brick running things is boring (so you wouldn't be able to get Doomdoom) while Patricia running things is the opposite.
I've personally never lost Royce when siding with the gang though (I don't do hard/V Hard lol) so I can't say if Dumdum blames you
Maybe he'll be mad only if Patricia is running things? It's an outcome I've never heard of so far tbh.

DumDum has to survive The Pickup for you to be able to get DoomDoom later, I don't think DumDum survives if Royce doesn't. Even if you do meet DumDum at Totentanz, picking up DoomDoom is by no means assured...it's a very tricky drop.

crap. I saved Brick too. I wanted to do it just out of curiosity and to my surprise, it didn't trigger dum dum (no reaction at all). feels like CDPR kinda overlooked this option for this outcome lol. should be allowed to do it without angering the maelstroms.

You could always use the CET mod to get it if you can't normally.

Yeah, and if you have the expansion, there is a dude over in the Dogtown stadium who sells random iconics. Might take a while to get tho, or be locked out since it's a choice (to agro on Dumdum or not to agro on him lol)

There is also an iconic mod that adds iconic firearms to Wilson's, and iconic blunt and blades to Coach in the H10.
