How Solomon Reed survived the train attack ?

this is not a spoiler because it all happened way before Phantom Liberty.
I finished the dlc with all the endings etc.. i still don't understand how he managed to survive during the attack of arasaka on the train when songbird betrayed him.

Someone can explain to me ?

Plot armor (meaning the story wanted him to survive).

From my understanding (and lets be clear, I zone out during peoples justifications for doing what they do). Songbird gave Arasaka his location as part as some GOVERNMENT (NUSA, MILTECH) decision. Not because she chose too.

That's what Reed is all about by the way, that's his choice, his rules. Everything for the Cause. And good for him.

So NUSA/MILTECH held up their part of the deal. Reed managed to live through their attack and get away. That's on Arasaka. They either assumed him dead or didn't care to pursue him (probley didn't meet a cost benefit criteria.)

The actual physical play by play. I don't know. Dodge left when they strike high.

it doesn't make any kind of sense he survived like 10 gunshots so close to him.
And those arasaka killers didn't check if he was really dead or not?
