Sinnerman is the worst side quest in any game I have ever played in my entire life
The writing is unbelievably stupid, why in the world would I get in the car?

The gameplay just getting there is even worse though. It's completely scripted to make it as frustrating as possible, every light is red and the same cars JUST SO HAPPEN to be always turning and getting in the way one after the other just to make it even more frustrating.

The NCPD car doesn't obey the laws of physics and doesn't slow down, it is obviously on some BS unfair invisible track that is pulling it where it needs to go rather than actually driving like I have to, you can easily see this when it rams into trucks and doesn't even slow down and takes 45 degree turns going 70mph while my car spins out like soap on glass going 20mpg.

Then you get 40 meters away and the car is force stopped and I'm told I failed?

Then you finally get to it and you try to kill the guy (the thing you were hired to do) and it puts you into this BS scripted nonsensical interaction where you're supposed to let the client die and get in the car with the murderer instead? WHAT? How in the world does that make any sense at all?

None of this is related to a bad game engine, all of this is just extremely poor game design. And then the car itself and the cop are giving totally ridiculously inflated stats to stop V from being able to kill them in a reasonable way, and even if you do you instantly get 4 stars and the entire police force descends on you to stop you from killing the murderer.

The game would literally be better if this entire bad quest line was flat our removed. This is the WORST sidequest I have ever experienced in all my years in gaming. Nothing about it is redeemable. The game itself is made worse for it's presence. Absolutely horrendous.

don't like the design of an optional 30 min side quest in a 100-150hour game OMG WORST GAME EVER! CORE INDUSTRY PROBLEM!

Vasquez takes a few shots to go down, but Joshua and Rach can definitely be nuked into oblivion before even exiting the car, and the mission is marked as complete.
No, unless they reversed the patch within the last few weeks he cannot, at least up until before Bill dies. While in the car he is immortal and so is the vehicle. Both him and the vehicle cannot be damaged by guns, explosives, and corrosion will not jump to him. As for after? Kind of pointless to kill him after he has left the vehicle, granted I've never tried.

As for Vasquez he is too tanky to kill fast enough to save Bill unless you've modded the game. "A few shots" is a bit of an understatement. One of, if not the tankiest non-boss (perhaps even tankier than most bosses) in the game.

Your game is borked if you cannot damage the car nor its occupants after killing Vasquez.

Bill was never meant to be saved.

The way I do it when I am not in the mood to do the entire questline, is to complete the chase, wait till Vasquez exits his car, nuke him, then kill Joshua and Rach in the car. Last time I used the Raiju to accomplish this. Then you call Wakako and inform her that the job's done.

Despite how game tries to stop me from killing the guy, I still always do it.
This quest can make anyone die from cringe lmao.

Really??? Because both the cop and the convict have been unkillable for a while now. I believe since the update prior to Phantom liberty.

Still killable even Vacaco has dialogue about that on the holo

:6thstreet: It seems like the OC is probably influenced by the hash going on around comparing Baldurs Gate 3 to triple A games.
:arasaka: It's not a fair comparison.
:militech: Take GTA Online for instance. It's open world is much more interactive. It's physics engine polished to setting the bar above standard.
-:dexter:- So what do BG3, & GTA have in common? Years and years of development on their respective engines, and gameplay.
:valentinos: CDPR is now moving to the unreal 5 engine so they can focus more on game play. rather than have to devote the Lions share of their time to dealing with engine development.
:judy: It is what it is. They can only do so much with the resources they have available. I see 2077 as a work of art. A nice train ride through a Cyberpunk country. I'd love it to be more sandbox. I'd love to have more open world play. But understand that CDPR can only do what it can with what time and resources they have. & what CDPR has done is pretty awesome. Take some time to just walk or drive around in Night city. explore. Listen to an audio book in the background, or music. :moxes:
:smasher: Blow stuff up!
:evelyn2077: Or check out the pole dancer on JigJig street. Just wow.
:royce: Or just do what you want with what we have. Until Orion comes out.

it was always worst designed quests in the game, like they had good idea about whole concept, dialogs etc. but structure of mission made it chaotic, very railroaded to the point of breaking immersion, at least first part of this quest : chase + convo under bridge was like that

Solve the task the way it is supposed to be solved. Shooting the murderer in the car is not the solution.

This is the answer. You screwed up the quest, you're not supposed to be able to kill him here. It's left possible but it's not how this quest is designed to play out.
The quest is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ awful. I plan on replaying the game after my first playthrough and I will 💯% ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ skip it or just off the stupid religious ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ murderer.

So you are "supposed to" talk with the guy once the car ride is over, it's all scripted to that point. But I found just before you get in the car, there's a small window where you can pull your iron out and shoot the guy you were originally hired for. The semi-invulnerable cop will then chase you for about 20mins its almost absurd, but once he gives up - mission complete. That's now my only way of dealing with this quest.

My way is.....just never go to the corner and meet the client (lol) procrastination at its finest.

You can chase after them (badly) and fail the mission too. That keep the client alive (but mad at you) Wako does not get paid (black stain on your rep) and iirc later said client quits NC.
So, if you want the (moral) high ground while still picking up the gig, this is the way to go, I think.
(Having said that, client may also go after him themselves, get a high bounty, or self delete...its been so long since I watched any vids on this one mission)

Jablonsky died on my playthrough but that's because he's stupid. But I was hired to kill the murderer. You can definitely kill the cop if you use sandevistan and katana him to death. I did it on Hard difficulty without too much issue.

i love how people just suddenly are repulsed by the convict in Sinnerman mission. I mean, people are just living their lives in Night City, Why are you so drawn to defending some rando victim when V is running over random people in a vehicle?

the convict is willing to emulate a christian religious figure's death via BD to rekindle Christianity's flame in Night City. at the very least, Rachel (the corpo woman who i think is a great character) and the Convict are more interesting than most NPCs in Night City.

So "Sinnerman" kinda-sorta triggers you and makes you uncomfortable? Or enrages you? Well, congratulations - that's what it's supposed to do.
It does neither, it's just annoying to play through, it's content doesn't bother me at all.

OP is mad that a quest that predated car combat wasn't completely rebuilt.

Who cares.

Sinnerman is a very good quest that could only be written by a bunch of catholics and ex catholics.

Yeah, this is my take on it aswell.

It just isen't for me.

Yeah, their engine really struggles with this quest and the structure is very rigid. I've always thought of CDPR as a nice AA with a couple games to their credit. There writing has never been outstanding and their games are clunky as ♥♥♥♥. I do love Cyber Punk and have 2,000 hours covering many playthroughs. Most of that is doing side missions and just driving. It has replaced fallout 4 as my time wasting game.

PL writing is better than the base game and I expect the new engine and more experienced writers to do a fabulous job with the next Cyber Punk.

The new mechanics only show how the quest has been set to play out the same way, every time, no matter how well you play, no matter how bad or how good your decisions or build is. We have a thing called role playing games and the role you play isn't supposed to be the world champion of Simon Says.

Imagine vehicle combat never occurred to anybody. Why does the target vehicle rubberband so obviously? Why does it sometimes "escape" at 50 yards away but sometimes 60 is fine? Why is the cop invincible? The quest breaks with the way the entire rest of the game works, in a punishing and thoughtless way. The writing is trite. Normally a lack of proper evil dialogue options is fine but my character is a contracted assassin with satanic looking tattoos and the choices are like "I think it's OK to crucify yourself" "Oh I think you should take better care of yourself" what the ♥♥♥♥. Then you literally get told not to ask probing questions in the most baffling part of the entire game? At that point every character in the quest is clearly either delusional or an immortal LARPing as a cop so you'd be stupid to not take the money and run.

Making a mission this crappy shows that someone had the wrong mindset. There are other parts of the game that are crappy too, they were probably from a similar mindset. The person who made this quest might have made my favorite parts of the game too, and criticizing the really bad parts of something is how you don't get more of it (there will be more).

Every game has moments of railroads. You still have options with this one, and the other option is to fail it. You get railroaded to have Johnny and lose Jackie and that's a long set of rails. You get another long railroad to make a deal with the Voodoo Boys (though you get to decide the conclusion of it). The majority of sidequests at least give you an out to fail them.

Don't use "It's railroading" as an excuse. Don't play CP'77 if you don't want to be railroaded. It has its freedom, but it has a whole lot of rails, too.

Does not make railroads OK. Especially when the train only stops at stupid town. At least with the Voodoo Boys you can kill them all or not kill them all.

um, you can't save Jackie. and i think that's ok.

you can leave the Sinnerman quest at almost every interaction with the character. you choose to ride those rails, or not.
