The Best Ending for V (Spoilers) Everyone is Two Faced
Cyber punk is a very dark setting game. But when you look deep down, everyone uses V. There are hints in the main game if you decide to look at the reality of it all. This is further detailed in the new expansion ending. Everyone decides to abandon V, not something you do when go missing for only 2 years. Compare Johnny's friends, to V's friends. Johnny's friends remembers him fondly, after years, and will stop what they are doing for you. A true friend, can you say the same about V's friend? Then you may say, what about Jacky, Misty and Vic? They are not V's friends. Note, Johnny rants about backstabbers often, and the game sets you deep into multiple betrayals.

Let us start with Vic, the free eyes V gets, may have come from scavs. There is an email to Vic when you read the scavs emails. Hinting that Vic offloads his stolen goods onto mercs and if they live to pay for them, good for Vic right? Not enough to convince you? What about when Jacky dies? Jacky owes Vic money, guess who Vic body ends up suspiciously?

Then there's Misty, whom you literally just killed her lover. And reveals that she is not so innocent when V comes around 2 years later. Misty does not really assist V either, those pills? Vic says those are Misty's pills, but those components also enable V to commit suicide. Leaves the pills right on the roof for you to do it too.

Panam? She got abandoned by her crew and needed V. The ending? The voice, when V brings up contacts Panams in Europe, you can hear the surprise, which makes you wonder. Has Panam ever thought of curing V? A hint of mocking in her voice? V going to get ditched right when V is no longer needed. Or Panam just hit the jackpot status quo and will wait for V to just die off.

Judy? Judy uses V. Uses V a lot. Moxxy don't like Judy for good reasons, she din't take over cloud for good reasons, a very good manipulator doesn't have many friends. Judy literally tells you what she did to her lover when she was little. There are hints that Judy can help V, via her skills in programming chip and the bio sync. But that may be a fore shadowing for another expansion. Can't expect too much from a game, but you don't really feel it when you tell Judy you are dying. Not one ♥♥♥♥ given.

River can be possibly the only true friend V has. Shown as in a quest from the expansion. Where River helps out without asking anything in return. This can be also seen from Johnny, as Johnny mentions knowing V's memory (which to me sounded as a saddening tone). Possibly seeing V having no real friends to call to recall on. You ever wondered why Johnny chooses his stories of helping people and not getting anything back in return? I don't think it is because Johnny is always salty.

Now for Jacky. Jacky... comes off as the possible snitch in Corpo V back story. Calling to see what happened, telling V to meet up and coincidentally being jumped. Jacky isn't exactly successful in jobs and the first trip to the Afterlife, Rogue takes notice of Jacky. Not a pleasing look or pose either. Jacky also introduces you to an apparently known backstabber, noted in one main event where Royce mentions and foreshadows Dex punching people in the face. Hinting at the backstabber. Then you will notice that everyone talks to V and flat out ignores Jacky. Maybe due to Jacky's reputation. Jacky does seem fond of people with garbage personality. EG Crusher, Takamura.

Getting back to the point, as best described for V in many instances. Quid pro quo. V doesn't need friends, the supposed friends need V. Abandoned the instant V was vulnerable and no longer of use.

I haven't done the ending introduced in PL, but from my knowledge V fell into the two year coma unexpectedly; he nor anyone knew that was going to happen, and the fact he fell into a two year coma was a gut punch for his/her loved ones, But two years is also enough time for people to grow up and move on with their lives (Vik working for a corp, Misty moving out of NC, etc). Remember, Johnny's death was announced throughout NC if not the entire world, all of his friends quickly came to terms with it cause there was no other way to cope. But for V, his coma could have ended the day after he fell in it or even not at all. I don't know about you, but a two year coma in the world of Cyberpunk is enough for someone to just scream, "♥♥♥♥ it, I'm moving on."

No one abandoned V in the Tower ending. Not even Panam - look how many missed calls you had from her, vs everyone else. That said, V knows their in game friends for a couple of months, tops, aside from Vic and Misty, who V know for about a year. Johnny and Kerry toured together for decades. Rogue similarly was in an on and off relationship with Rogue for close to a decade, and they ran ops together for another decade after that.

Expecting all of your friends, that you know only months, to drop everything and run to you when you come back from the dead a second time two years later is a bit much. It's fine for V to feel disappointed about it, since from V's perspective it was only days, but it's not abandonment for people to move on with their lives.

It was Frank. If you're looking for him you see him come into Lizzie's ahead of the huscle, and he stops just behind the wall directly in front of you. If you make an effort, you can still see him around Jackie.

This a troll or just starting a debate? If you pick the right options everyone loves V.

Nobody close to Johnny remembered him fondly. Kerry was in his shadow and was constantly getting verbally abused while Johnny was all drugged out. He abused Alt and cheated on Rogue.

Vic fronts you 21000 credits and probably didnt get any payment after being brought to him by Takemura once shot. Then tries to try and give some helpful advice.

Might not be in every playthrough but this recent one, I picked a conversation option Ive never done before with Takemura, and he says Arasaka TAKES Jackies body from Vik after Dex takes you out. Vik doesnt sell it. Arasaka can get a damaged incomplete engram from the recently deceased, which sounds much worse than a normal one.

Too lazy to go through everything else, after reading V "literally" killed mistys lover, you pulling Jackys backstabber reputation outta nowhere, and panams " hint of mocking" in her voice. lol.

Besides Panam and her crew literally risk the whole gang to help a single person. And the other characters reveal pretty personal stuff about themselves and atleast Judy keeps in touch once she leaves and encourages V to get happy too.

Yeah I get the feeling you don't really know what you're talking about in 95% of your post. Sorry friend. I think you need to pay a bit more attention in your next playthrough.

For starters, Vik does not sell used implants.
Misty informs V about the pills herself.
Also it wasn't her that gave him the pills on the roof at the end, V takes those himself from Vik's table before joining Misty.
There was no "hint of mocking" in Panam's voice.
Judy offers payment for V's services for the Pisces quest.
Jackie is no snitch, as somebody already explained before me.

The tower ending is a bit bittersweet sure, but it is also a fresh beginning for V. Nothing says V cant patch up the relationships, those are only your initial reactions from people who thought you were dead and moved on with their lives. Just because Panam doesnt want to talk to V now, and Mitch tries to warn you away, wont stop V from tracking her down, and dealing with the concussion she is probably going to give him.

And whom told Frank? If someone had changed your life for the better forever. You would be estatic if they all of a sudden reappeared in your life. Even if they were an ass, Johnny proved that. And he was an ass the whole time.

Edit. Change that thought

Frank try's to turn you back into Abernathy after the fact. In no way does it say Frank was the one whom initially ratted you out at the beginning of the into into Corpo V. This conversation, specifically where Jacky speaks calls you and is overly curious of how V's job went.
