The most terrifying storyline
Anyone else majorly horrified at the Dream On story line with Jefferson Peralez, the guy running for mayor? It leaves so many questions unanswered. Big, big questions.

The concept was interesting, however story goes nowhere (similarly to what was with the AI when it downloaded into bot in Somewhat Damaged) so by end of the day it's another "whatever".

It felt like a hint at interaction with blackwall AI's, the kind of thing that would have been another dlc if development had gone differently. Not enough to properly tie it off, but enough to not remove it from the game completely.

its a story line about the corporate elites with blue eyes that 'Garry the prophet' rants about, that live in space on the luxury space station and control and manipulate things on earth (mr.blue eyes they guy that blacks your vision and warns you and you can see in the nearby lookout at the end of the quest when talking to Jefferson)

you can also see mr.blue eyes in the Cyberpunk 2077 reveal trailer as one of the passengers of a space shuttle, someone across him catches on fire while he is pleasantly drinking a beverage and smiling

he also appears in Phantom Liberty and its implied that hes the one funding songbirds escape trip to space.

he'll most likely play a larger role in Orion.

also agreed. was a cool and disturbing questline. go check for secret rooms in ur house! XD

Mr Blue eyes will be the big bad in cyberpunk 2 is my guess, get the feeling if there was more to this game and it did better he would have ended up being a major role in other expansions with all the unanswered question but things went poorly so we catch him down the road in cyberpunk 2 I bet.

You also meet him directly for one of the endings so yeah got the feeling he was always meant for bigger things

There are several quests that point to the fact that AI's have already pierced the Blackwall or have AI allies in Night City. If you didn't notice, when you met with Peralez, you are observed by "Blue Eyes", a guy who's eyes are lit up constantly implying he is an AI. There are also references in the game which describe operations where personality and memory manipulation is quietly a widespread practice. Sandra Dorsett's side quest for example has a specific reference to an AI named CN-07 which drove a Night Corp employee crazy and caused him to commit a murder suicide and that it will be next employed on the real target.

The shard on Sandra Dorsett is named "Carpe Noctem" or Seized the Night in latin. If you do Garry the Prophet's quest "The Song of the Prophet", the same phrase is echo'd by Arasaka in its secret meeting with Maelstrom. In that same meeting, Alt's construct (called Lilith) is referenced as having "obscured the 10th circle". Phantom Liberty Song Mi also references "Blue Eyes" when she ropes you into stealing the AI that can potentially fix both her and V's condition.

Things are extremely ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up and it looks like AIs have already infiltrated past Netwatch in force

Of course they have, delamaine and brendan are two instances of AI going rogue, there are others. It isnt a big step to consider one specific character being mostly under influence of rogue AI for some purpose. The longer Vrubs shoulders with johnny, the more aligned they become so at what point does a netrunner who is at or crosses over the blackwall stop being themselves and becomes a surrogate AI with human thinking. That's the scary part.

Both Delamian and Brendan were originally sanctioned, limited AIs that appear to have outgrown their original design. If you read the Delamain emails, the taxi company when it was run by humans desperately wanted to get tech support that never came. If you fuse his "children" back into the mainframe to make new Delamain (rather than reboot), it alludes to him trying to break the confines and escape beyond the Blackwall as he finds the local nets limiting. Brendan of course gets terminated in the end and didn't come from beyond the Blackwall.

It is the AIs beyond the Blackwall which really scares Netwatch which desperately tries to protect humans from rogue AIs beyond the Blackwall which are much more powerful than the ones like Delamain or Brendan. The Peralez storyline and all the other references suggests that they have already lost that war and are already manipulating humans. Hopefully if and when a sequel is made, they will focus on this aspect of the Cyberpunk lore.

I doubt blue eyes will be the major bad in Cyberpunk 2, my guess is he will remain enigmatic and be subtly implicated in various shenanigans behind the scenes. Why waste a perfectly good mysterious character?

I have zero substantiating evidence, and this is a very much a flight of fantasy.

What if Blue Eyes is Richard Night (in one form of another, soulkiller, engram etc) and is still trying to build the NC envisioned. Blue Eyes, seeing Blue Skies. You can see him watching from a balcony in the final interaction with Jefferson, can't be shot or hacked, out of jump distance (afaik) and if you circle around to his position, he is long gone.

Of course this is all entirely fantasy and conjecture. I wouldn't like to think there would be such a heavy tip of the hat towards the Matrix (The Architect) just because of a specific voice actor, despite the little nods found elsewhere to the trilogy.

I will happily accept all and any further information from those more familiar with the OC of the ttg and Lore.

Just a thought. :lunar2019piginablanket:

In v1.63, I managed to jump across to Mr. "Peepin' Tom" Blue Eyes with the help of double jump. Sadly though, and unsurprisingly, he just stands there - as I'm assuming the game wasn't expecting players to reach him by jumping the gap...

Lot of build-up and then it just ends nowhere.

I like it a lot, and I've always wondered if CDPR was going for a Neuromancer nod (IYKYK). It's a little series of missions that hints maybe... just maybe, everyone you've been talking to is just pawns in a larger chess game. I mean, V is being manipulated all the time, and by computer programs as well as living persons. Alt, for example, started as a construct of a human, but now--from her dialog--she is much much more. Good stuff.
