Songbird final stage, cannot kill reed

Every time I choose "draw weapon", reed always kills me immediately even i shoot him first. I tried s&l more than 10 times, also tired to adjust the difficulty from very hard to easy, but nothing works.
Not sure if it is a bug or I missed any prerequisites, I find some youtube which shows that reed can be killed.

Ugg, the devs made really bonehead decisions with this game. Having to repeat my choice a half dozen times and then come here for the tip absolutely ruined the vibe of the story. Just script the damn thing.

The problem comes because some quests have you "draw weapon" & you automatically shoot. Others just pull the weapon but wait for you to pull the trigger. Consistency would be appreciated.

Other people figured it out with no problem, the failure was not with the developers.

so I'm at this part of the game and I'm spamming the left mouse, aiming then spamming left mouse, and none of it is working! all files validated so I don't think that's the problem

Lol! Thank you! I thought my game was bugged, because I kept getting "Action Blocked" when I tried to shoot.

It is, as this was literally never used in the game elsewhere. So i suggest getting of your high horse.

Anyone know a different fix than aiming? It worked originally then since then it just doesn’t work and I’m stuck at action blocked no matter what

Same here. No matter what I attempt, if I try to shoot Reed, the Action Blocked banner appears and prevents me from shooting. I've tried right mouse click to aim and the results are the same. I have tried to go slow & spam the left mouse button, both to no avail. I've tried aiming for the body and for the head, no dice. I've done it before (have the achievement) but trying it again since the latest patch and it just does not work for me. I've attempted this about 10 times now and Reed kills me every time. Not sure what I'm supposed to do otherwise, but either this is a newly introduced bug or a piss-poor mechanic that I only got working the first time by sheer luck. I'd rather not betray Songbird in this playthrough, but it may be the only way to progress if this is genuinely broken.

Anyone try this recently? Thanks
