I need to know something about Phantom Liberty
Okay so without spoiling I need to know if the DLC has a "Good" ending where V and his/her chooms/romance partner as still tight. Similar to the Aldecaldo ending, which to me is the best ending.

I have been hearing people say that the DLC makes your romance partner and chooms hate you? If this is the case then Im not sure I even wanna bother with the dlc then. I didn't spend all that time building friendships to have them end so easily because of some ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.

I haven't played the expansion's ending, but AFAIK it's almost entirely up to whether your output wants to stay in Night City with you or not.

♥♥♥♥! That's not good with Judy! Honestly Panam as well! *Sigh*

The new ending is bittersweet to say the least.

From what I have read so far here and elsewhere, I got discouraged from buying this DLC, because of the story and awful ending. I have the feeling you're not gonna enjoy it either.

V left with Panam and the Nomads and I'm gonna leave it at that.

It does not force you into this bitter ending. You can play all the way through the dlc and then still continue the rest of your main story like nothing happened (maybe a few minor details change? idk). I would that the dlc was worth it and it was pretty damn good for the storyline I chose.
I WOULD wait for a sale, but I paid full price and have no regrets. It is almost a DLC to cyberpunk as blood and wine was to witcher 3.

I would say the new ending is like a lot of things in the Cyberpunk world: brutal, beautiful, and always interesting. It's emotionally complex, which is something I don't see often in games. I liked it. I also get why some folks didn't.

If you're on the fence, I'd say to wait for a sale.

V gets what he wanted out of it. But loses the chooms in the process.

5 new endings

4 mid game dlc endings
1 secret endgame ending that becomes an additional option to select on the rooftop (based on which of the 4 DLC ones you did)
imo arguably the best DLC ending locks you out of the new game ending.

Yeah. I would say the PL content is good and worth it (depending how price sensitive you are , you might want to wait for a sale), but honestly, the new ending is bittersweet at best. Personally, I found the 'bitter' side of that bittersweet is done in such a ham-fisted, forced way I was laughing instead of feeling anything else by the end. It just missed the mark completely for me.
Bad ending (that you can just not choose anyway) aside though, I had a lot of fun with PL.

Without going into spoilers, I can confirm there is at least one path through Phantom Liberty that can essentially end with it all being an adventure that you had and should just forget about and move on; no impact or major changes. Having only done the one run and set of choices, I can't say if the other decisions would give you a choice to figuratively walk away or not.

For clarity, I heard the same thing about Phantom Liberty's ending so I was open to a choice that would let me finish the rest of the game without ruining things. This was all my first time playing so I didn't want to get locked down to an ending when I still had things to do. Thankfully, I seem to have the option to "change my mind" after I'm done with everything else and basically experience the ending I would have received from Phantom Liberty. It would be nice if all the paths had options like mine did but I can't confirm if they do or not.

So its true then? There is no ending in PL that is "good/happy" for V? CDPR really just said "make all the PL endings bad"? Look I get it Night City isn't a great place but for christ sakes they could have let V break the mold a bit. Guess the Aldecaldo ending will just be it for me. So much for hoping there could be a better outcome.

Bittersweet is the right word, but it was more like a gut punch with a particular ending relevant to your question. The expansion is good overall but for me, if I knew how all the endings were, I doubt I would have gotten it. Would have rather not known at all. Ugh! lol

No all her friends end up leaving her due to unexpected circumstance in receiving the cure.

There are no happy endings. Best one is still going with the nomads, at least you have friends and a family that cares about you.

The new ending plays with peoples fear of loss and going out of their way, and by the reactions a lot of people are having with the new ending they've pretty much nailed it. Objectively the ending is kind of a happy ending for V though, they get the chance to start over and even have a job offer from NUSA. Most of the 'friends' V loses touch with are people they hardly knew for more than a few months at best, and even they have mostly used V to achieve their own goals. The only exception being Vik, and to an extent Panam.

So I just played the ending everyone's talking about - the ending that can replace the base game endings - and yeah that was super bittersweet. It's not an ending I would ever choose again but I thought it was really well done.
