Killing the _______ _____ ruined the DLC
Why did they introduce such dynamic and interesting characters, just to kill them off? I would've preferred to either choose between them and alex/reed or take them to a safehouse. They could've given out gigs, side quests, etc. Maybe they could've provided some cool european style vehicle. Maybe they could of been romance options? Just killing them off was such a waste.

Because there is no happy endings in Night City. Or something like that.

This is a writers trope. Make characters that people really like then to kill them off to have people stick around and think about why they died. They were written like that on purpose to get you interested. A lot of stories do this. If you take writing classes they teach you this in character building. It's nothing new. That's why they died. They served their purpose to get you more hooked on the story. Nothing more.

So it was just a low effort cheap hook. That's even worse. What a waste of time and effort.
Also, if your worried about spoilers don't look at the forums.

It cues you in that Reed (and probably Alex, but maybe she's just doing the obvious follow-up) are just fine with lying to you, too. Specifically, Reed lied to you during planning when he stated that it was going to be a kidnapping.

Yeah. Reed got what was coming to him :)

The point is that Reed and Alex being ♥♥♥♥♥ is part of the standard FIA procedure, and it's killing them inside but they're too loyal to the NUS to go against it.
What gets to me is that Reed has a deep dichotomy of being ruthless enough to murder anyone he meets yet fatherly enough to put his protege before his president. You just smell the deception coming from this spy and it's weird in the same way as a socialite intentionally caking herself in mud before a party.

Yeah that part seemed a little off to me too. Felt like it was pure evil to murder them when they were out. Maybe devs wrote these characters with the idea that they could expand on them but they couldn't and simply chose to get rid of them with the least creative way?

I couldn't stand that aspect of him. Especially after all the conversations that made him seem regretful. When he offers V a job in the new ending, I couldn't help but feel like that was more so to make himself feel better about ruining another life. Johnny had the right idea about him.

i personally didnt really care about them. On top of that as a Merc V has probably done a number of similar things. (Depending on your choices) We kill people all the time in order to complete objectives. At least thats how i saw it. Tbh they just felt like random side characters that were made exclusively for a mission and thats it. I dont really see anything else they could or should have done with them. While they may be interesting, thats just how life is, we meet tons of interesting people to never meet them again.

wish using the twins identity was a longer chain of quests. Aurore's accent was awesome lol

There's just so many times a phrase can be used to justify something.

I agree with the OP...the callousness and brutality genuinely shocked me, and I was really disappointed that such fun, well drawn characters were discarded so abruptly.

By the way, OP...how about not putting spoilers in the subject line?
