Body is mainly useful for those who want to pursue a melee build, whereas Reflexes is what you generally want for a gun based build, so yeah, the high Body requirement on some guns does seem a bit odd to me from a gameplay standpoint.
It follows a certain logic from a real-world perspectiive, big heavy gun means you must be stronk to wield it, but it doesen't fit neatly into the levelling system they created.
I cannot deny that I am a very bad person.
I found the new Guts shotgun...the recoil is still crazy. Frankly, I found it inferior to the Legendary Carnage in most ways.
*Body is good for things like Shotgun builds with High life regen, not just for "melee"
My original point was about having to attain _20-level_ in Body to use it, and how many people would do that. That's a lot of points to devote to a niche weapon.
Edit:
Guts is a lot of fun by the way. And yeah, shotguns and LMGs are meant to work with body because the perks are designed for running up to enemies and blowing them away rather than sitting back and shooting from long range. So the extra health helps.

I like the fact that if you miss somebody, it still knocks them down. Or knocks down multiple people. Or hits all body parts if you get the range just right. I often get cases blowing off a head and multiple limbs in one shot.
