It wouldn't even need to be for long, I would like some short quest with her to give us some sort of a tease of what she's up to, which could be expanded upon in Edgerunners season 2 (if it happens).
For example David could have "survived" and made into a construct, the quest with Lucy could end with her finding out David is alive and thus you could have some sort of direction for second season of the anime...which would be a shame to drop given how succesful it is.
Edgerunners is its own thing and had its own ending. Same with 2077. Nothing should be shared between them except a couple of easter eggs and fluff since inserting them into eachother will just taint both and lower the overall quality.
Lucy isn't dead, David maybe is and maybe isn't. When it comes to plot, both V and Lucy have some grudges towards Arasaka.
If what the leaks are saying is true, then the DLC will offer a new ending.
And keep in mind that there is a new construct / psyche in your head. It can be seen in the trailer...and as dumb as it sounds the new construct looks a little bit like Lucy.
David is 100% dead. He was shot in the head. If we use the logic of someone being shot in the head not being deadly, then Rebecca and literally every other character could have survived too. No. Stop this tomfoolery.
Another issue is that this effectivly disrespects the story of the anime if you were to do this. Yes, things can be retconned. But not only would they rip off Wolfenstein with your guys idea but they would also go against the actual story of the anime which btw is canon. And know what that means? Set in stone.
I guess, my thought is that we see every body of the crew after they die - Rebecca, Kiwi, Maine and the rest... Except for David. We hear the shot, yes, but we dont actually see where it landed and if Smasher shot it. Keep in mind Arasaka wanted him for testing and probably still does because he can use the cyberskeleton..
My idea is that they ended the anime in that way so David'a Fate is "unknown" due to a possibility of a sequel given how successful the show is.
Ok fair but thats not how Cyberpunk as a world is set up nor how Trigger does anime and they are very likely going to employ Trigger if they ever will do a sequel or a different anime of the game again.
As for the Adam Smasher part: Adam has 100% shot him in the head as is seen not only in the opening, as it is foreshadowing pretty much the end but there are also multiple times in the anime where they practically said outloud that none of them are gonna survive by the end. Even Lucy surviving was a curveball but after thinking about it, it makes sense.
Every character had their goals. Every character wanted something from life. Every single one of them died in the end. Only the ones who were smart enough left as soon as they could. Remember how Lucy and Falko survived? Because Falko took Lucy into the Car and ♥♥♥♥♥♥ off. Lucy on the other hand wanted to get back because her goal was for David to survive. If she would have been allowed to keep going, she would have died just as much.
Its why even Rebeccas Brother died, the one who we dont know much about. He wanted to live his life as he saw fit. That was his goal, he was a "no ♥♥♥♥♥ given" type character. Just ♥♥♥♥ around and have fun. Blam, first one to die cause he ends up pissing of a Cyberpsycho just because he wants to have fun.
Good points there... At the end of the day we'll have to wait and see what the expansion will be about, till then it's just a guessing game.
We already saw another construct in the trailer so its shaping out to be a pretty interesting DLC.
Wearing his jacket would warrant a cold response. Perhaps one of anger and sadness - "where the ♥♥♥♥ did you get that?" and maybe certain augments you could get the response "... sorry. You reminded me of someone is all."
But still keep it fairly vague so the player doesn't have to literally Mirror David in the facial appearance department but through maybe just the jacket and augments.
Perhaps the best thing I think CDPR could do is offer the player the option to give something of David's to Lucy as a way to help her mourn. As well as tell her Adam bit the dust but arasaka is still around. Maybe she could tell you about David and her crew.
I could see small side quest in helping her tie up loose ends and her giving V maybe a special daemon or mod vs a sudden romantic relationship.
So we begin with Lucy returning back to earth for some ungodly reason but lets take that she is indeed there to tie up loose ends. So whats her actual motivation? On the moon, if we go by the line in the anime its a one way trip, she heard of Davids Body although dead still being held by Arasaka to study it since the Davids Mind was not the only thing able to withstand all the stress. (Just grabbing stuff, correct me if I am incorrect with ingame lore. I am only 10 hours in)
Since Davids body is not put to rest, she wants to make sure they cannot abuse him anymore since that is what her goal was from the start. But knowing that she cannot act officially as herself, she over time gets in contact with V. What would spark this specifically? A little item already in the game. Rebeccas Shotgun. Picking it up sparked rumors, somehow a gun that took on the mighty Adam Smasher fell into the hands of a local Legend. The same Legend who ended up defeating Adam Smasher (Yes I am constructing this as a "After End" DLC).
Now after this there are various things that can happen. From many different stealth ops to smash and grabs. All of which are tied to locations and people in the anime. Even Falco could make a return here telling us a bit more about what happened after the battle in which Rebecca and David died. Could even get emotional about seeing Rebeccas Gun or Davids Jacket if the player possesses either.
And then by the end of it all, V assaults the final resting place of David which could be a Bunker, Arasaka Tower and so on and so forth. There are many ways this could go, it could end up a secret military stronghold for research Idk. Again, just grabbing stuff that fits the idea.
During all this there could be sidequests, some of which could lead you to the final restingplaces of both Rebeccas Brother (where maybe her corpse is laid to rest by Falco later after the show) and Kiwi (which might be a warehouse where the character was stripped for parts)
By the end, Lucy can grant the player one of five items of their choosing each belonging to one of the main members of the old team as a thank you for finally putting David to rest. And after this, Lucy returns to the Moon because its the only place where she will be safe.
A cameo of some sort I think might be nice. There's already something to use as a hook for a short set of gigs now in game. Wouldn't set my heart on it but it would be really nice to see her commission eg a hit on those ultimately responsible for a few things.
Would also love some missions following up on Biotechnica and Sasha too.
is in one of the NCPD subcontracts I recall a Strikingly Similar Hairstyle, body, and Outfit.<with the only change/addition is a transparent cover/hood over the top>
in the end, no messages, no comments, no anything will change that. for one may get a message/hit of life. but find it hours/minutes/seconds/days/Deadman switch too late.
