"Johnny's" Samurai Jacket
So everyone who's played this game and looked at the trailers and the promo material has see the somewhat infamous Samurai Jacket that V wears constantly. Around halfway through the game Rouge gives you this jacket saying that it used to belong to Johnny Silverhand, but we never actually see him wear anything like it in the flashbacks or anywhere else, not that it looks like something Johnny would actually wear. Even Johnny barely acknowledges the jacket, just saying to try it on, and never saying anything about it ever again.
This scene feels out of place and just thrown in to me, like they had this iconic looking jacket in all of the official artwork and on the cover of the game that they could've done anything within the story but just decided to put it in like "heres a replica of something johnny wore a long time ago trust me lol." On my first playthrough I got to this part and said out loud "Really? Thats how you get that jacket?"
I know its just a jacket and most people opt to use other clothing items that they prefer over the jacket, but I feel like it should've been done a little more justice for being toted around by V all over the marketing.
This isn't even much of a problem considering the other glaring issues the game has (and hopefully doesn't have with this new update) but its one of the few things that bothered me on my first time playing and I thought I'd share my thoughts.

Well, to be fair, we saw all of two memories from Johnny. In both, he probably wasn't in a frame of mind to go "Oh, hey, lemme just grab my favourite jacket before I head out to kick some corpo ass!" As for the jacket itself, it's "only" a replica, so not the real thing, so maybe he'd have to say more if it actually were the REAL one? I mean, there aren't really any memories attached to the replica ...

As for me, personally, since I was turning into a Johnny look-alike more and more by the point I got the jacket (as far as that's possible with a female V, anyways), maybe he was just too weirded out to comment much? *lol*

I can see that! I thought it was more amusing that V had a Samurai jacket that was their own in many of the promos (like at the No Tell Motel) and the idea that V is a fan of Johnny Silverhand and Samurai before getting him jammed into his head and learning who he really it.

It didn't need to be Johnny's jacket to be special, at least to me. All the other cloths were *chef's kiss* already.

As already stated, We only really see 2-3 memories from johnny in the first place. Do you wear a jacket every moment of every day?
We also never see him inside his porsche either, But he confirms that it's his when we get it.

And he seems really happy to see that Porsche again. So I guess him not being as enthusiastic about the jacket is probably either because it's a replica or because he's just a lot fonder of his Porsche than his clothes.

Doesn't all of johnny's clothes say "Replica" on their stats anyways? I think only the Aviators are the ones that don't.

Nope. Just checked. Only thing that says replica is his jacket.

Only thing that bugs me about Johnny's clothes is that I collected them all just so that on my second playthrough I could wear them for Johnn's Samurai reunion gig and the bloody game forced me into some generic rubbish clothes.

Well to be fair you WERE supposed to be incognito for that gig. Kerry states this when he pitches the idea to you. He wanted to choose some random low grade bar where he hoped nobody would know who they are.

How would anyone know that my twenty something female V was actually Johnny and not just a cosplaying fangirl? Whereas Kerry would have still been a face in the media.

They were all wearing disguises as well. You showing up to a hidden samurai reunion decked out looking like johnny silverhand and then suddenly playing just as good as johnny silverhand while the band that's not supposed to be reconized at samurai starts playing samurai songs a little too-good would of been too much of a give away.
