V has six months to live. Maybe there's a cure to be found on the road with Panam. Maybe there's one to be found while doing hit jobs for Arasaka. Maybe there's one to be found by pulling off a huge heist for the blue eyed man.

Up to you if you want to head canon that cos the story ends where it ends.

Presumably there is some dlc coming at some point called "the relic". One can assume it's about the one in V's head so there might be something more to the story. This is obviously speculation as we have no information other than the "leak" from the epic store.

Alt is an ai, not a human.
It knows no friendship, honor or compassions. Noone knows what Alt really wants, but you can be sure that it doesn't just want to do you a favor. It has its reasons.
I wouldn't belive a single word Alt says.

My guess is, that Alt wants Johnny to take over Vs body since he's easy to manipulate. He's kinda an idiot and Alt knows him very well.

he didnt

v technically by the worlds standards should have survived, by reuploading back into the body should have corrected it since it rewires the body when johnny took over or when saburo took over his son. V should have been fine by just that being in the story, but for some reason because of plot he/she doesnt. you could argue though that the v we play as does die and is replaced with a new v which could be a neat story addition though.

The reason is due to the circumstances surrounding the engrams.

When V has the chip in his head he dies (Deshawn putting a bullet in the MC's head is kinda fatal), triggering the chip to rewrite the body's brain for johnny.
At the end the body is completely johnny's. To do as you suggest and have V re-write the body for himself the body has to die again in the EXACT same fashion as the first time. A partially glitched out engram chip with the body recieving a somehow survivable bullet to the front cortex.

It happening once was a miracle of coincidences leading to the events in the game. Repeating it on purpose.... unlikely at best.

Like getting struck by lighting and surviving. Let alone the sheer improbability of being struck by an exactly same power bolt as the first one also manufacturing the same conditions to perfectly replicate a situation where in every other case you would be dead....

yeah. No one in their right mind would even hope to try it.

V basicly always dies. As soon as V connects to Mikoshi, ALT uses SOULKILLER and thats it. The scene inside Mikoshi is already an engrammed V.

(Imho such an ending fits the Cyberpunk genre very well, though I hope for maybe something new in a futre dlc.)

Put this in the story spoiler section please. ugh

I get that, but towards the end v and johnnys personalities started merging so I don't see how when alt replicated the process to fix it she wouldn't just keep the merged data for the empty space from the mc getting their head shot. I'd also imagine that in the world technology is so integrated you can take info of the person in question and just write up the data based on their digital footprint.

I don't take our character as someone who would constantly be uploading stuff to the net, but I do think theyd have enough info about them and their actions that if alt wanted could replicate them based on their understanding of people and what not.

Personally, I do not trust that "six months to live" stuff.

It's somewhere between a scare tactic used by shady medical salespeople and a guess. In real life some percentage of the people given that diagnosis would die early and some other percentage would die much later.
Tekkon Apr 6, 2021 @ 3:12am
V is going to die no matter what, the whole story is about V accepting this.

I also would be skeptical of the "Alt AI", though for different reasons.

Still, if the Alt explanation was correct that would mean that consciousness partially resides in our immune system -- which is an interesting concept. It's kind of along the lines of saying that most diseases are psychosomatic, except sort of logically inverted.

(It's kind of disappointing that the forums have been so hijacked by youtube stunts that basically no one is talking about this kind of thing.)
