...which shifts the question to a matter of principle. I think telling him the truth is the morally right thing to do, even if it's futile. At least it'd give Jeff some agency back, otherwise he gets his personality re-written without him suspecting a thing, and that's just... wrong.
I really have to question the puppeteer's agenda, though. I mean, people have pointed out elsewhere that Mr Blue Eyes watches over your final meeting with Peralez from a balcony. And also that Mr Blue Eyes, Peralez and Garry the Prophet wear the same ring...
