The game's ending. Everything is pointless. [SPOILERS]

I just finished the game. It's really good. I enjoyed it. In fact, i was already planning to replay it a second time before ending my first playthrough but i thought... what's the point? Everything you do, every decision you make, the investment you make in these characters, the world and the story... everything is pointless. You're only delaying the inevitable at the end. V dies regardless of every path you choose. 6 or 7 multiple endings but the outcome remains the same. Death. Nothingless. It's actually pretty depressing. The best ending would be just shooting yourself in the head. Why? Because it would be the easiest and the most merciful.

Taking one of the shots you get to defeat Araska would leave the world a bit better off and I still haven't completely given up hope that there is a secret and unlikely route through the game that opens up an ending nobody has seen yet. There definitly still are a few things like the final 2 Tarot cards that nobody managed to unlock in the same savegame.

Thats based on the idea that in order for an ending to be good your character has to live. If the Devs wanted to have V die no matter what it is their decision.

Also lets not pretend that the endings are ME3 all over again because they are not. I'm not going to add spoiler tags here because the title of the thread tells people its a spolier. IN some endings Yorinobu dies, some he lives. Some arasaka is made stronger some they are made weaker.

Whether soulkiller is used on V differs depending on the ending.

The Phone calls during the credits differ
Do you remain in night city or leave etc etc

Granted some of the difference in nuanced, but there is difference.

Misty tell you that they are 2 main ending.

Some have still hope.

Arasaka ending ' devil the tarots card is not hidden it s reveal himself " survive at all cost : Johny is deleted aka evil ending.

Judgement Found on the wall during Last fight for the lvl 50 ending, and Panam.

In best case Johny is save behind the wall without construct.

Leaving johny in your body let s them say they might encounter later with no formal goodbye but johny is not the same guy.

If you take your 6 month : Alt is the best IA in night city since global network is down from last war, so maybe in other city it s will work.

In low case Blue eyes is called to be an strong hidden IA by johny during mayor side mission so it should know more than Alt since he say he may help you if you success again an risky mission.

DLC waiting is the answers.

im almost certain the DLC will follow the pattern of ME3. That is to say all will take place before the final mission. Its the easiest way to avoid retconing an ending and alienating peoples choices. CDPR have already generated alot of negativity over this game, I think they'd want to avoid more.

I hope im wrong. but i doubt it.

If this was true at all, people would have found it in the files already. Stuff like that doesn't stay secret anymore, people are too good at finding it these days.

This is not a story not about V, or Johnny, or Arasaka. This is a story about Night City you look at through their eyes. And every ending shapes, shakes and changes it, in one way or another. So nothing is meaningless.

Nomad ending. V gets half a year to sort it out which is way more than these few weeks, Viktor predicts in the Beginning. And its up to you to decide, if V and the Aldegados actually find a solution.

Yeah ! This has been hashed around a lot, I even posted about it, I guess it has to do with personal perspective.

I do agree with you, and I hope maybe a DLC will fix or repair this loathing feeling I have at the end.

johnny is crap and worthless pos the dlc better save v or the game is dead. and in end story the ripper doc tell v not to let dirt get in the under shield makes you wonder if v has a chance after all

I mean his character arc can make it easy to forget what he did, but yeah, there's no redemption for killing three quarters of a million innocent people.

Thats apparently enough of a defense to excuse detonating a nuke in a city for many people.

I play on console but yeah exactly, think about it just like real life nothing you do will mean ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ in the end either even if its for OTHER people when you're gone and how you effected them they'll be gone some day too lol I know this sounds morbid but what you're saying is basically the facts of life and yeah nobody thinks about it cause it's depressing as hell.
