Plot point, hmm.....
Do you want to romance Judy? Because to romance Judy, Evelyn has to go. No two ways about it, if Ev is still around there is no way Judy will even really *see* your FemV cause she's still blinded by her crush/affection for EV.
There is also the fact that her questline revolves around leading V to the VoodooBoys.
I doubt a professional Doll such as her would allow someone (even someone she trusts) to go into her business data (the recordings) to find such sensitive info. (Ie, let Judy scour her implant for deets on Yorinobu and how she found out about the Chip/why she hires us to begin with)
Her reputation would be ruined, and in NightCity, Rep is everything.
A Doll who gives up sensitive deets is a Doll whose client list drops down to zero's that make chump change.
The Doll's implant is designed how it is for more than just the clients mental and physical desires. It protects both of them by making the 'encounter' something the Doll cannot remember, at least when used in Clouds and other Dollhouse settings.
The basic functionality of the Doll chip (change hair, eyes ect) functions fine outside of the Dollhouse framework and server, but the special interaction (knows what the client *needs*, as we see with Skye/Angel conversation V has in game) is the part that's protected. Its why the Doll we picked has to ask "Did I do something wrong?" when we end the talk. They don't remember.
(I get the feeling that using the BD-Rec implant to record while using the Clouds database system are mutually exclusive.)
A lot of players want to save her.
For many different reasons.
Its the same with other characters (most notably Jackie Wells)
Your best option is Fanfiction tbh.
Or finding a tabletop group willing to play the 2077 storyline thru (since *anything* is possible in tabletop, if you have a GM that can plot branching timelines or react on the fly to alterations in the planned scenarios)
fanfiction????????????
i just wanted more options. i mean is it an RPG or not an RPG to me it seems more like forced adventure story and u have no control the whole thing is flawed in areas. especially when non of the lift u pick at the start has any affect really u can't do anything in it.
there are no options in cyberpunk u can't make your own decisions at all. just want more choice and im sure there is a way to save her and it doesint matter at the cost of judy people should have the option to do what they want. in an RPG there are multiple ways of getting to what you want and not a forced route.
In tabletop.
Because in tabletop (paper and pencil) the GM (game master) can be flexible enough to change things up.
But inside the computer game? No.
Its linear. You get to pick from what the games makers decided.
Maybe, years from now, if modmakers are still making mods for the game, someone might find ways to change things.
you obviously Haven't seen BG3 and properly adding in options for players.
And i thought this was the forum for Ideas and Suggestions. >.>
What you are asking for is the equivalent of 'can I not get a tadpole in my eye at the start of the game as an option to play?' rather than 'can I get the added option to romance that tiefling bard that's upsetting the squirrels?'
We've been asking 'can we save Jackie Wells as an option?' for three whole years almost.
Think its the same thing. They can't change it.
The closest we've ever gotten is his appearance in dlc for Death Stranding.
(And players take all kinds of pictures with him using the AMM mod and pose swap packs, swap nibbles the cat for npc mods ect. That's part of what I mean by Fanfiction. We write our own versions with folks. Evelyn is one of the swaps available, I've seen her and players V's in images taken in game using those mods. But an actual mod to save her, be it before she goes back to Clouds, or before Judy calls us about her at home, I don't think its possible yet. Maybe ever. Some code is impossible to change without breaking everything it connects to.)
i guess its dam depressing tho.
"No happy endings." is a saying many folks quote about the game.
It's one reason I like tabletop.
You can be much more flexible with tabletop games as a human mind ( your GM) can often accommodate, bend or improve the game.
'House rules' are a thing too. (GM says certain things are/are not going to be allowed in their game, unlike the settings sourcebooks)
One I like for tabletop cyberpunk is 'if your character makes it to a certain level/age/Rep, they can retire and pick a replacement character to take over, becoming a Legend of NightCity.'
It gives players something (other than money, power or stuff) to aim for, keeps lucky characters alive to use as NPC'S and roll models to look up to.
They roll up a replacement character, and you include that char in the next storyline. Mentoring thing. If things go ok, you 'retire' and hand over to the new character, and your old character becomes an npc that's just around in the city.
You can 'call in a big favour' in a pinch, and they can help (but only in really dire need, or for plot reasons)
But it means they don't always have to die to 'retire'
You don't play them anymore, but you get to see them become a 'living legend' of the city. They may not get that 'happy ending' but they are still kicking lol.
its sad because they said it was going to be an RPG not a story driven adventure
